Life & Work with Jeanna Crawford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanna Crawford.

Jeanna Loves Christmas started three years ago with 100 followers on Instagram and a passion to share my love of Christmas with the world. We now have 192,000 Christmasers – people who are just as excited to share the message and the love of the season! This growth is a reflection of connection. I truly feel like I have 192,000 Christmas besties. My DMs are filled daily with pictures of babies, stories about new loves, requests for prayers, and so much more. This Christmaser community makes all of the work worth it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road worth traveling on is smooth. The bumps and bends in the road are for the lesson. They build character and are necessary to make sure where you end up is where you were supposed to be going. For Christmasing, it was always just a matter of getting a year’s worth of work done in a few months’ time and not getting hurt. Now, with entertaining in the mix, it’s navigating that old route while being on a whole new highway. There is a balance to be had that isn’t as intuitive as I’d like it to be, but it’s rewarding and has shown me what the road ahead has in store.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m most proud of how my family – my husband and children – have made this another opportunity for togetherness. When I’m working, my husband is always right there, working alongside me. And if they’re not in school, our boys are there, too. When we’re filming for YouTube or doing Instagram Stories, it’s the same – we’re together! Our Christmaser community has taken us on as their own – and we’ve done the same with them. My family’s little world has expanded in the most beautiful way.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My number-one pro tip is this: Ask for help. Human nature struggles with this simple task more than anything else. It seems like asking for help is a form of weakness when, in fact, it shows confidence and respect to those who are there to help you. Everyone wants to be purpose-filled and giving others a hand up is purpose. I never thought a social channel created to spread Christmas cheer would become the place where all my life experiences – mostly having nothing to do with Christmas – became shared to help others grow in their journey. I am a helper; it’s who I am – and that’s in great part because of everyone who has helped me.
