Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaselynn Villalpando.

Jaselynn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Jassdesiretoinspire Cosmetics is a vegan cosmetics brand that is made for all skin types and ages. I first started my cosmetics brand in 2020 after I recovered from Bell’s Palsy. In 2019, my face was paralyzed for four months, with hopes of having my face go back to normal it finally did, and I started to embrace my face features and skin even more. I have always wanted to start a brand of my own and love inspiring others through positive affirmation videos through my social media. I’ve always had a passion for makeup and started doing makeup in high-school on others. I finally decided to do months of research on how to make vegan lipglosses and lipsticks. My name originates from what I love to do inspire others so that is where I got jassdesiretoinspire cosmetics from.

After months of research, I finally decided to take a leap and start my own cosmetics line. I built my own website, learned how to make different pigments, labeled my own products & marketed my own brand. I have customers throughout California, Texas, New York, & Arizona. Every day I strive to continue to make my brand include all skin types & ages. From the age of 13-65, I want everybody to know that they are beautiful the way they are and makeup is to enhance their natural beauty. I sell cosmetics to all ages and genders. I love hearing feedback of the quality of my products and making those feel beautiful in it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I think first starting a business as an entrepreneur, there’s alot of things that you learn as you go as a business owner. I definitely have learned is to track inventory and keep track of finances. There are times when sometimes sales can be slow, and that is okay; we have to come to the acceptance that as a business owner who is just starting it takes a year to establish customers as long as you continue to push and be consistent and love what you do, then all the things you want out of your business will flourish.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a full-time marketing specialist for health care. I work Monday-Friday 8-5pm. My job consists of communication with our employees, external communication with partners, commercial planning, billboard planning, outreach & events.

I also have my cosmetics line and brand full-time. Often on weekends I am either doing makeup on the side, photography, and once in a great while I officiate people to get married. I think that sets me apart is my ambition and drive to be a go-getter and always striving to do more and be more. I am not afraid to try new things. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications & Journalism, once I graduated I got into the Marketing World.

How do you think about happiness?
Making an impact in people’s lives makes me happy. If I can inspire or touch at least one person then I know I am doing something right. I love to see people get inspired by other’s stories. I believe everyone has a story to tell and making those connections and sharing those vulnerable moments with others is such a beautiful thing to see. I think what makes me happy is seen people do what they love and not being afraid to be different and be themselves in today’s society.
