Life & Work with Janet Gomez of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janet Gomez

Hi Janet, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I owe so much of my journey to motherhood—it’s the reason I’m here today. Becoming a mom sparked a deep need for creativity and transformation, almost like a rebirth. Shortly after, I co-founded Las Mamacitas, a women’s networking community based in Los Angeles, with occasional events in San Diego. It became a space for women to connect, share knowledge, and build relationships in a supportive environment.

Six years later, I launched my creative marketing agency, Jan’s Spring Design, after seeing so many women-owned businesses in my community struggle with social media strategy. My goal has always been to help entrepreneurs show up with confidence and purpose online.

Most recently, I co-launched Soñar Podcast with my uncle, where we amplify the voices and stories of people of color. Each step of my journey has been about community, storytelling, and creating spaces where people feel seen and empowered.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been an incredible journey, but it definitely hasn’t been without its challenges. There have been countless sleepless nights, moments of frustration and tears, constant pivots, and endless Google searches to find solutions. But through it all, I’ve leaned on my community for support, and that has made all the difference. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a creative entrepreneur with a deep passion for storytelling and community building. Everything I do—whether it’s through Jan’s Spring Design, Las Mamacitas, or Sonar Podcast—is rooted in strategy and connection.

At Jan’s Spring Design, my creative marketing agency, I help women-owned businesses develop a clear social media strategy that not only grows their brand but also fosters genuine relationships with their audience. Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do because I believe that connection drives community, and community builds success.

Through Las Mamacitas, my women’s networking community, I create spaces for like-minded women to connect, learn, and grow together. And with Soñar Podcast, I’m amplifying the voices and stories of POC, sharing narratives that deserve to be heard.

What sets me apart is my strategic approach to storytelling. I don’t just focus on aesthetics or trends—I help my clients craft narratives that build trust and loyalty. If it’s a business looking to refine its brand voice or an entrepreneur trying to show up more confidently online, I ensure that their story is told with intention and impact.

I’m incredibly proud of the communities I’ve built and the businesses I’ve helped grow. Seeing people embrace their stories, connect with their audience, and thrive in their own unique way is what fuels my passion every single day.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I see the digital marketing and social media industry continuing to evolve in ways that emphasize authenticity, community-driven content, and AI-powered strategy.

One of the biggest shifts I anticipate is the rise of deeper, more meaningful engagement over vanity metrics. Businesses will need to focus on building relationships rather than just chasing followers, which means storytelling and personalized content will become even more essential.

Additionally, AI and automation will continue to shape how businesses create and distribute content, making it easier to streamline workflows and repurpose content effectively. However, while AI can assist with strategy and execution, brands that focus on human connection and genuine storytelling will stand out in an increasingly automated world.

At the core of it all, the businesses that thrive will be the ones that show up consistently, with purpose, and with a clear message that resonates with their community—which is exactly what I help my clients do.
