Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Castro.
Hi Jacqueline, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up watching my parents work in healthcare, and seeing the way they consistently showed up for others really shaped my values early on. They didn’t just treat it as a job, it was about care, responsibility, and helping people during vulnerable moments. The environment naturally built a strong sense of empathy and service in me. I initially followed a similar path, working in healthcare while continuing my education. Overtime, I realized that while helping others has always been at the core of who I am, I wanted to expand all the ways I could do that through communication, creativity, and connection, not just clinical work. Exploring different experiences taught me discipline, adaptability, and how rewarding it is for me to support others in meaningful ways. Today, I’m very intentional about pursuing opportunities that allow me to help people while also growing professionally. Being able to make a positive impact , whether big or small, is what motivates me, and that value comes directly from what I learned growing up. As I gained all this experience, I discovered that I wanted to support people in a more holistic way. That’s what led me to become an overall wellness, fitness, and mindset coach. I now create fully customized programs for individuals that include tailored meal plans, training splits, and mental wellness checklists designed around each person’s specific goals and lifestyle. Alongside coaching, I am actively working on developing online e-books and programs focused on recipes, wellness education, and mindset tools to help people who may need extra structure for motivation. I also run a YouTube channel dedicated to encouraging others to become their best selves and shift their mindset in a positive, sustainable way. I love learning every day, whether it’s about health, discipline, or personal growth, and I intentionally apply what I learn both in my own life and what I teach others. Everything I do is rooted in the same value I learned growing up, helping people improve their lives in the most meaningful way possible. Anyone who has experienced my work or knows me and understands how meaningful it is to me to positively impact even one person. Being able to help someone shift the way they feel or think about themselves is incredibly rewarding, and I consider that a privilege. Creating that kind of positive change, especially in how people view themselves, is what gives my work purpose.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. My journey has involved a lot of learning and unlearning. One of the biggest challenges was learning to trust myself while balancing multiple responsibilities at once–work, school, coaching, and personal growth. There were moments of doubt for sure, especially early on, where I questioned whether I was doing too much or moving in the right direction. So I really had to learn to be patient with myself while staying disciplined. I was learning through trial and error..a lot of it (even to this day). Not everything worked the first time, and I had to become comfortable adjusting, refining my approach, and staying consistent even when progress felt slow. After all, all good things take time. I also had to learn how to protect my energy and not pour from an empty cup while still wanting to help others. Those struggles shaped me in the best way. They taught me resilience, self-trust, and the importance of alignment, choosing paths that truly reflect who I am and how I want to serve. Looking back, every challenge strengthened my purpose and reinforced why I do what I do.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I would like to describe myself as a wellness-based entrepreneur and creative. My work combines business, creativity, and
service. I build customized wellness programs, create educational and motivational content, and develop resources that help people improve their health, mindset and overall quality of life. At the core of everything I do is impact. I made my Instagram handle HeavenSentShawdy, so I call my programs and my brand HeavenSent or HeavenSentBawdy because I see the work I do as purpose-driven. For me, wellness goes beyond aesthetics. It’s about helping people feel confident, strong, and aligned in their bodies and minds. The name reflects the belief that taking care of yourself and being disciplined to do so is a form of self-respect something that can truly change your life.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next five to ten years, I believe the wellness industry will continue shifting away from one-size-fits-all solutions and more toward personalized, holistic approaches. People are becoming more educated and intentional about their health, and they’re looking for programs that address not just physical fitness, but mental, emotional, and lifestyle wellness as well.
I also see a big shift toward digital education and accessibility. Online programs, e-books, and virtual coaching will continue to grow, allowing people to get support no matter where they are. At the same time, authenticity will matter more than ever, and people will want to learn from those who genuinely live what they teach, not just sell a product.
Mindset and mental wellness will become less of an ‘add-on’ and more of a foundation. Fitness will no longer be just about aesthetics, but about confidence, longevity, discipline, and self-respect. Coaches and creators who can combine education, empathy, and real-life application will stand out the most.
Overall, I see the industry moving toward alignment, helping people feel strong in their bodies, clear in their minds, and confident in how they show up in their everyday lives.
