Today we’d like to introduce you to George Duchannes.
Hi George, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got my start in magazines. During Covid I was in Palm Springs and shot a lot of restaurants for Palm Springs life magazine and fell in love with shooting cuisine. Had the opportunity to shoot a lot of beautiful restaurants that had dishes that were more like art than just food. Have been in love with it ever since and created my food and restaurant photography brand called food for aesthetic. Food that is not only incredible to eat but beauty for the eye.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been very smooth and rewarding thanks to getting amazing clients from the magazines I’ve worked with.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is editorial while still having a lifestyle spin. Being in print my work is always ready to be published. Businesses can use my work for social media but it’ also is ready to be published anywhere. My lighting techniques and long time in the industry sets me apart.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I have shifted a bit. I am also an editorial photographer at www.Duchannes.com. Right now I have pivoted a bit more towards restaurants since I realized there was a market for high end restaurants that need quality food photography. I see myself headed towards the hospitality industry.
