Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Chanto
Hi Diana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The way I started was my sister loved to sing, and it really inspired me. I joined choir and high school and had a friend who was still one of the people I were closest to today asked me to sing a hook on one of their songs so when I was 15 we recorded In the closet with the pantyhose over the microphone, and when I heard it back, I fell in love with what I heard and with the process
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing is ever smooth, right I guess the part that is the most enjoyable is a journey and the process and how you can come back from the ups and downs in music. There’s so many different type of artist that it’s easy to start comparing yourself, but one thing I have to always remember that I am unique and that there’s room for all of us.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Being a Singer Songwriter and having the chance to work with amazing artist, especially during the Covid pandemic has been an honor and some thing I’m very very proud of. I’ve had the chance to work with Steve Aioki Jason Derulo Anitta Don Omar And many more artists from both the Spanish genre and the English American genre I feel that that’s what sets me apart is that I’m versatile and can work with both the English and Spanish artist in the different genres such as pop R&B, Reggaeton salsa just the name a few . Being of Latin culture Colombian half Costa Rican, but growing up in America in Los Angeles I feel like I’ve had a chance to really explore My roots
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5 to 10 years, I see myself still being obsessed with creating with music and hopefully with more syncing opportunities to have my music heard I love the process and creating and anything that comes out of. It is a blessing and I’m so thankful for it. Something I would also love would be to possibly have a music school to help mentor since so many music programs have been cut out of schools. It’d be nice to have somewhere where people can go express or creative ideas.
