Life & Work with Conor Buckley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Conor Buckley.

Hi Conor, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I originally got introduced to my first actual camera back when I was in college after my baseball career had ended. During that time, I was in the process of pursuing my passion of building and creating a clothing brand, which ended up becoming I AM Clothing Co. In that process, I had to learn everything from screen printing to machinery, to product sales, and social media commercial marketing. Looking back on how awful my camera quality was at the time, it’s where my love for film grew.

I quickly learned that I love creating promotional-hype videos about other products and businesses. Since 2018, I’ve been freelancing as a cinematographer for many different types of clients and businesses and have made so many incredible relationships along the way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road at all. Growing up in sports, it teaches you how to be resilient and to focus on the goals and direction of where you want to go instead of worrying about the problem.

The toughest thing that I think people don’t tell you about being an entrepreneur is that the tough part is all about how much you can take. Can you get rejected 100 times but try 101 times for that single YES? Do you believe in yourself enough to focus on the next opportunity or focus on the past?

My first Media job years ago, I was hired to market and film for this company. I spent 3 months, every single day, without a single bite of getting new leads. I was so sure I was onto something but just needed a bit more time. Eventually, I was let go, and on my last day at work there, all 3 clients I had spent months getting ghosted by, had called to say they’d like to do business. It was the biggest sigh of relief that I knew my months of hard work had paid off. I then went on to work for myself after that.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Conor Buckley Media specializes in creating commercial video production for brands and businesses to help them with their marketing needs. We offer monthly video and photo production services depending on what your business wants and needs. This frees up the business owner from having to worry about what to post or promote next. We give you months’ worth of content so you always have professional-grade content at your fingertips.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the fact that we can go anywhere on any given day and do so many different things. From entertainment, music, sports, and community.

Part of living in this great city though is dealing with the horrible traffic. All the time. Everyday.
