Life & Work with Christine Daley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Daley.

Hi Christine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began Daley Delivery about eight years ago when my best friend from childhood was pregnant and nauseous around food. From filling her fridge with reheat and eat meals, the concept of DD was born. Since then, the business has expanded to other states and the schedule has allowed me to expand my private chef and catering business as well. Now I have clients who order off the weekly menu as well as clients that I meal prep for the entire week, clients where I come and cook in the home for dinner parties, special occasions or just a romantic date night as well as cooking for larger upscale events where I drop food or cook on site. Keeps me busy but I love it!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely have learned some major lessons along the way. I had to change the way ordering worked as we grew and adjust the way the plans worked to make things more efficient. I have definitely hit a few moments where I need to pivot or take a moment to truly decide what is best for the business moving forward. And sometimes that’s really hard to see (or admit) when you’re in it. But I’m grateful to have learned these things because I think it’s provided me tools to be better equipped as we continue to expand!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
There are three pieces to my business. The first is a food delivery service throughout LA that is roughly 4-5 nights of fully-prepared meals for one or two adults delivered to your door. It’s packaged “family style” so you’re able to pick how you want to eat and when. It’s delivered in compostable containers once a week. The second is catering for larger events. I found that my clients were interested in my food for larger-scale events. I know have worked with larger luxury brands preparing everything from passed apps to full sit-down five-course meals. And finally, my private chef business has taken off and I’m beyond grateful for it. Whether it’s for a dinner party or special occasion, I have some incredible clients who invite me into their homes to prep, cook and serve delicious food. I love the creative process of building the menu that fits what the client is seeking for the event or dinner. It’s a blast for me and one of my favorite parts of the job. And I think my love of food and my creativity in the kitchen is what keeps clients coming back for more!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If you’re interested in trying the meal delivery, it’s not a subscription and you can order anytime you’d like a fridge stocked with healthy, delicious food. We offer vegan, pescatarian and meat options as well as working with clients with their personal dietary restrictions. I create and post a new menu every Wednesday, orders in by Saturday and food delivered on Tuesdays. If you’re interested in learning more about the private chef opportunities or catering for an upcoming event, please reach out via the website. www.daleydelivery.com
