Today we’d like to introduce you to Barrett

Hi BARRETT, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
‘BARRETT’ is our last name. We are two Komerican (half Korean / American) brothers Nate & Jeremy Barrett
We’ve been chasin’ this music bag ever since we did the talent show together in 5th grade…

We’ve played in rock bands for the last 10+ years and we still have quite a few different musical projects that we pursue quite regularly BUT our passion proj that we plan on taking to the top is this baby right here:

‘BARRETT’

A dancey, funk disco, electric DJ duo that will eventually play live shows with a full live band (real drums, bass, keys, guitar)

We are most excited for that but as for now we are just building our discography. We have 3 songs available for streaming everywhere and we are in the process of recording a ton more (:

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a hell of a journey to say the least but I wouldn’t say it’s been a bumpy road necessarily as it’s all fun always (;

But I guess the whole adaptation to this electric dance music world has been the interesting part for us as we come from a background of LIVE rock n roll bands etc but learning to DJ and understanding that electric dance world more and more has been so fun… especially tapping into some of our favorite funky, disco energy.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
‘BARRETT’ is our funk, disco, dance music project.

We make music for you to blast in your car, spin your lover around, & dance naked in your room

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
We make really fun, funk disco dance music but some of our favorite bands are far from this genre

For one example, my favorite band of all time is LED ZEPPELIN (this is Nate Barrett speaking)
And my brother (Jerm Barrett) his FBOAT is The Beatles
