Life & Work with Adonis Tsilimparis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adonis Tsilimparis.

Adonis, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Born and raised in New York City, I was exposed to a vast array of musical influences. I studied music and became a Guitar and Bass player. I started out as a session musician playing in several bands around NYC. I eventually turned to Film Scoring and Music Supervision. I moved to L.A. 4 years ago and have been working in the Film and TV Music Industry since.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been anything but a smooth road. It takes a lot of persistence and focus to get anywhere in this industry. That being said, I feel like I have accomplished a lot by not giving up.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My main focus is Film Scoring and Music Supervision. I’ve worked on dozens of films and TV shows.

Working on both sides of that craft has been interesting.

As much as I love scoring, I also enjoy licensing songs for Films and TV.

It’s always a joy to help out artists and get their songs placed on a Show or a Film.

The project I’m most proud of is probably the music I did for “CSI: NY” and NCIS.

Those were a lot of fun to work on.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The importance of networking is invaluable. Meeting all the right people is what will determine your career path. All the best jobs I’ve gotten were a direct result of Networking, so you have to get out there and join those meet-ups and parties or any other events where you can meet people in your industry.
