Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Davon
Hi Aaron, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hey there! I’m so excited to share a bit about my background and passions with you. I’m a firm believer in the interplay of nature and nurture, and I’m a lifelong Angeleno—born at St. Francis in Lynwood and raised throughout LA County, from Long Beach to Paramount High School. Growing up, I was fascinated by everything! Every subject in school sparked my curiosity. One semester I’d be immersed in math, the next I’d be dreaming of becoming a writer. That diverse range of interests continued as I approached senior year. You know how everyone asks, “What do you want to be? What’s your major?” Well, I never had just one answer. I wanted to explore so many different paths! My counselor wasn’t quite sure what to make of that, but I knew I wanted a career that embraced my multifaceted interests.
My diverse interests continued as I grew. I initially focused on business, but then I completely fell in love with photography and cinematography! As I honed my skills and delved deeper into production, I found myself surrounded by other creatives and artists who shared my passions—and who were incredibly talented! I was so fortunate to learn from them and build a fantastic network of resources. I even started an Instagram account to showcase my work. And since I have a knack for marketing, I started posting videos, pictures, and all sorts of content. Before I knew it, I was getting booked more and more! I truly believe the most important thing is to just start pursuing your dream. Otherwise, it’ll just stay a dream. It’s funny, some of the friends I made early on who were also into photography aren’t doing it as much anymore, but they’re incredibly supportive and love to come cheer me on at my shoots!
These days, I’m working as a Marketing Coordinator at a fantastic non-profit called Vital Link. We’re all about preparing students for future careers through hands-on learning—everything from robotics and engineering to healthcare, programming, digital media, and automotive tech! I get to help spread the word about all the amazing programs we offer in the community, like internships, career days, industry tours, and networking opportunities with professionals in all sorts of fields. And I definitely haven’t given up on my photography and videography! I’m actually a producer on a podcast called “Scene Through Us” by Traklife. I co-host with Ervin Cordero (the Founder/CEO of Traklife), and LindseyDuzIt (a media personality and DJ). We dive into all things music and how it connects with culture and society. I love that I’ve stayed true to myself and haven’t limited myself to just one profession. What’s even better is that in both my professional roles, I find so much joy in networking with people and helping them out!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My mom as a single parent and we moved around a lot. We also didn’t have access to certain things due our ow income, There were times when I wasn’t in traditional school, but my mom always made sure I was learning. I was constantly reading, writing, and working through math workbooks. Education was incredibly important to her. She read to me constantly, and I was absolutely captivated by the stories, the characters, and all the different settings. I’d close my eyes and create entire movies in my head! One of the very first books I owned was “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” That book had a huge impact on me. I turned to it whenever I was nervous, scared, or even just bored. My education continued through middle and high school, where I benefited from programs that broadened my horizons—from field trips to museums to training on new technology like personal computers and coding classes. That’s why I’m so excited to be at Vital Link now! We’re providing these same kinds of opportunities to kids, helping them explore career options they might never have imagined.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve mentioned before that I prefer not to be limited to a single focus. I enjoy creative work, but I also thrive on exploring diverse subjects and areas. My marketing specialization allows me to work across various organizations and industries, which perfectly suits this preference.
Employee/ Professional: Marketing Coordinator – Vital Link
Now I am currently wokring as the Marketing Coordinator at Vital Link, a non-profit dedicated to student career pathways, Im responsible for creating and engaging content across various platforms to raise awareness and support for the organization’s mission. This includes managing social media, updating the website, producing marketing materials, and supporting fundraising efforts. By effectively communicating Vital Link’s programs and successes, the coordinator helps connect students with valuable career exploration opportunities, including internships, mentorships, and skill development workshops. This, in turn, empowers students to make informed decisions about their future, leading to increased educational attainment, workforce readiness, and ultimately, greater economic mobility. For the community, this translates to a more skilled and engaged workforce, reduced unemployment, and a stronger, more prosperous future. I’m excited about the Electric Vehicle Challenge starting May 3rd! Students are already hard at work designing and building their cars. Sponsored by Patterson Autos, Cal Baptist University, and Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, this high-octane competition pushes students to explore the boundaries of design, construction, and racing. Throughout the year, in classes and clubs, they’ve been building or modifying energy-efficient vehicles, diving into electrical and mechanical engineering, aerodynamics, and physics. They’re experimenting with different energy sources, some building from scratch, others modifying existing designs. The challenge culminates in a timed trial race at the end of the school year. Over 250 students on more than 25 high school teams will be competing for the top spot.
Artist Creative: Photographer – Aaron Production | Producer & Editor – Traklife
My work as a photographer and videographer keeps me busy and allows me to express my creativity. I’m also passionate about giving back to the community, so I offer free graduation photos to students each year. Additionally, I collaborate with Traklife, a music network and community platform. Traklife connects artists, professionals, and enthusiasts, providing resources and opportunities for growth within the music industry. I contribute to their podcast, which helps showcase new music, artists, and industry insights, all in service of supporting the vibrant music culture.
