Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Scott Rocco of Hollywood

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Scott Rocco. Check out our conversation below.

Scott, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I do my best every day to wake up as early as 5 am. From there, I’ll start my day reading the Bible with prayer. This helps me to stay grounded with my faith in God and overcome any obstacles I may face each day. I also enjoy stretching daily and working out 3-4 days a week. This keeps me focused and sharp to attack my daily goals.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Scott Rocco. I’m an award-winning LA based singer-songwriter and multimedia artist. Over the years, I have released music to the world performing many shows and have toured cities in the US. I have also lent my acting skills to a variety of film and tv projects. In addition, I have written, produced, and starred in my own film projects, Somewhere Between and Come As You Are. I am currently in pre-production for a music video and will be releasing my new single “Rise” later this year.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I believe one of the hardest things to do is to let go of the past. It teaches us so much about love, loss, and just life. I’ve endured immense loss and heartache over the years. As much as it hurts, that emotional pain of losing someone teaches us the power of love. If we never cried from losing a loved one or suffered from missing them, how would you know what love truly is? I think that kind of pain serves as a reminder of the incredible love we have for each other. Music and creativity have also been a tremendous catharsis for me to let things go. It’s also another way for me to show my love and appreciation for everyone and everything that has been a part of my life.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
The same thing my father would say to me… have patience. Everything will work out.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Since I see them as family they would say my love for them and all that I do for everyone is what really matters to me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I truly love God, my family, my friends, and I impacted the world in a positive way.
