Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Sariel Elkaim of Los Angeles

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Sariel Elkaim . Check out our conversation below.

Sariel , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Thanks for having me! Being outdoors – hiking, rock climbing, paddle boarding. Anything outdoors, I’m happy.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Well, hey there! I’m Sariel Elkaim, a Los Angeles–based photographer and the creative behind Photos by Sariel. For the past five years, I’ve been capturing portraits—mainly working with musicians and creatives from hip-hop to techno and everything in between. My goal is always to make my photos feel personal, vibrant, and full of life—a true reflection of the people in front of my lens.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Mhmm. The answer that comes to mind is the relationship I have with my closest friends. The people you keep around you says a lot about you. My friends empower, support, and elevate who I am. Countless amount of lessons I’ve learned about myself, just from being around them. Very thankful!

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering teaches what success never can — how to find strength in softness, and peace in the places that once hurt.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
What’s meant for me will find me when I’m ready.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
Waking up in nature with a fresh cup of coffee and my dog by my side – or the complete opposite environment…at the rave.
