Good morning Pedro, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
My most recent film project “El Mundo Sin Color” is making me very proud of myself. I have been working on it for over a year now and it is screening at many film festivals around Los Angeles and the world, winning awards, such as “Best Editing in a Latin Film”. “El Mundo Sin Color” explores the struggles of Daniel, a Brazilian immigrant living in Argentina, who finds himself consumed by loneliness in this new place. Through an intense therapy session, Daniel embarks on a journey of self-discovery inside of his mind, confronting his deepest fears and nightmares in an effort to find inner peace.
The film will be available to watch on YouTube next spring! But the trailer is already out on my YouTube channel.
Also, I am very proud of my brand new song that is coming out soon.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Pedro Cavaletti. I am a Brazilian artist, just graduated from college in LA, with a BFA in Acting for Film. Recently, I have been working on all the areas of filmmaking, in order to produce my newest project, “Elemental Confusion”.
In this project, there are 4 different stories, each inspired by an element of nature.
In 2024, I released “Artistic Pressure”, a bold feature film about a famous pop artist struggling to find peace. This one was based on the element of fire, with incredible visuals, and it is available on YouTube.
After that, I started working on “El Mundo Sin Color”, which I mentioned already, and this one has the focus on the element of air.
Now, as part of my thesis at film school, I released “Escapism: A Search Inside”, based on the element of water, and soon I will finish this project with a story told on a song, called “Cycle of Life”, exploring the element of earth.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I moved by myself from a small town in Brazil to Los Angeles, some years ago. After that moment, I started to see the world with other eyes and realize the things that really matter to me in life, appreciating my culture and my family even more.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When I started to write my own films and songs. I feel like writing helps a lot to channel my pain somewhere else, which later can be used as a tool of healing. “El Mundo Sin Color” is a big example of that. In the film, I talked about the most sensitive and personal topics of my life, and my pain was transformed into art, which is now giving me awards and helping to shape my career.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I don’t really think so. You can find parts of the real me on my films and songs, but on social media, just like everyone else, I need to be a little different, showing a stronger version of me, not allowing myself to be vulnerable…
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Honestly, I think I would pause my career and start to live all the things I didn’t get a chance to in the last few years. Ever since I moved to LA, I have been focused on my projects and growing as an artist, but I don’t get the chance to travel with my friends and see my family very often. So I would take an easier path to try to get some happiness while I still have time.
