Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Lee Betchley

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Lee Betchley. Check out our conversation below.

Lee, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My goal when I wake up is to never be in a rush. Relax my way through the morning rituals. This year I have added to speak out loud one thing I am grateful for every day. It sounds like I am making this up to sound like a “positive” person. However I think we all need help focusing on what we do have. I want to help myself focus on what is right about my life. Stating a gratitude early in the day is a go way to turn your focus

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a Certified Hypnotherapist. I try to use a holistic approach hypno-coaching. I use a combination of formal hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Lucid Dreaming, and ancient spiritual teachings to assist people in producing new and more effective ways to improve their lives and understand why they do what they do.

I would like to believe all hypnotherapist are special. Hypnotherapist have had to fight against a lot of myths and misunderstandings in the past. For those of us who have stuck it out for more than a few years it is because we believe in the power of the mind

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I was six my father caught me in a lie. I did not get upset about. I responded by admitting the truth and also what I learned from the event itself. That taught me to be objective not for others but mainly for myself.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Compassion. It’s not about feeling sorry for someone or not holding them accountable. However, you can still have compassion for them

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
For the most part yes. However, I do not share too many personal stories in session because the session isn’t about me. I do believe that you have to “live” what you believe or people (clients) will see through it. I am not certain I could offer something that I myself didn’t believe or live

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Someone to talk about their thoughts and “aha” moments with. Which is also what I would miss the most
