We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jenn Feldman. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Jenn, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
It’s a mad dash: coffee, quick kisses getting my boys out the door for school, then getting dressed, feeding the dog, and a glaze of social media and emails — there’s never a minute to spare!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
What a great question.
I knew early on that I had an innate ability to see how things fit together—how space and objects relate, how individual pieces create a whole. I cared deeply about my environment and cherished the things around me. As a little girl, I would spend hours immersed in intricate puzzles, instinctively understanding where each piece belonged.
After a robust career in public relations in New York City, my second act began when I moved to Los Angeles 20 years ago to be with my husband. I continued working in PR in LA, but the universe kept nudging me back toward creativity—even if I hadn’t fully connected the dots yet.
Then came a fortuitous discovery by Nate Berkus, which led me to Oprah… (this story can be it’s own interview!) and the rest, as they say, is history. It took a full adult life and a move 3,000 miles away for me to truly recognize my calling.
In 2012, I founded JFD and never looked back.
Thank you, Nate and Oprah.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
My goodness, you smart Midwestern girl — you so got this!
I was the last in line to recognize my own superpowers. With perspective, I can now see that I was far more capable than I ever gave myself credit for.
When I look back on my childhood, I have very few regrets. Two stand out: I wish I had learned French, and I wish I had trusted myself more intuitively — the confidence I was searching for was already there all along.
I also wish I had gone a little lighter on the ’90s perm… but you can’t win them all.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I hope my closest friends would say I was always there for them – being there to listen, to share, to cheer the loudest, and to hold space when it counts. I love hard and show up unconditionally.
At the very core of who I am what matters is my family, my boys, and making people feel comfortable and welcome,
And of course… my dog Frankie, a truly perfect cup of coffee and my very specific (non-negotiable) favorite combination of jellybeans will always count!
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I’m investing in relationships, instincts, and patience.
I’m building a body of work, a point of view, and a way of doing things that prioritizes integrity over speed. I’m teaching my boys how to be good humans. I’m trusting my intuition more than the noise.
I’m choosing patience over shortcuts and consistency over quick wins — knowing that the most meaningful things take time to compound.
Seven to ten years from now, maybe I’ll look back and think it was easy! Even though we all know it never really is 🙂
