Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Hillary Simone of West Adams

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Hillary Simone. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Hillary, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I can’t lie. I am still in bed for that first 90.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m really into interviews, internet, and what authenticity comes from vulnerability. I combine this all in my digi series, You Can Tell Me. Rather than another online show about hot takes, it’s one where I collect love-centered confessions. I’m always filming and love to.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Moments that have shaped my perspective are ones where I’m surprised to have a shared the same lived experience with another. Living’s a little less overwhelming when I feel less alone navigating it. A little.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I’ve been in Los Angeles over a decade now so I feel like it goes without saying I’ve almost given up. I’ve not gotten a job, but have gotten laid off. Dating was an unfunny joke until it wasn’t at all. I like to think every L stands for lesson.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Being inauthentic is exhausting. I can’t think of a time when it’d have gotten me anything of value.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
A match on Hinge? Talk about a misuse of my sweet and juicy time.
