Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Erica Nichole of West Hollywood

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Erica Nichole. Check out our conversation below.

Erica , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I have to say that I am most proud of the family that I have built so far. I have a beautiful daughter who just turned two! I can’t believe it!
For those who don’t know me that well, even some of my clients who have maybe seen me multiple times, don’t get to see that side of me. So, 9/10 times they are pretty shocked when they find out that I am a mom. Probably, because I like to keep that side of my life private but I know I should show more of it especially on my social so people can feel more related to me when showing parts of my “real life”. My daughter is my pride and joy, my most proud accomplishment is her. Finding the balance to work in an industry I have a true passion for and be a mom at the same time is very rewarding to me. It’s a true gift.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello beautiful faces. My name is Erica, licensed medical aesthetician. Some of you may already know me and for those who don’t I typically go by, Erica Nichole or SkinbyEricaNichole. I have worked for some of the top med spa’s in the Los Angeles area covering West Hollywood, such as Kate Somerville, Facile on Melrose Place, and Crystal Koro celebrity esthetician at Crystal Clear Skin and beauty in Beverly Hills.

I am excited to announce that I am now working at Skin Thesis in West Hollywood along side Melissa Haloossim, business owner and Nurse Practitioner.
I specialize in acne facials, Diamond Glow facials, Glacial Facials, dermaplaning, chemical peels, and much more!

I have been in the aesthetics industry for over a decade working as a medical assistant prior to becoming a growing esthetician. I have taken every chance that has been given to me with many thanks and blessings. I will always be grateful for these opportunities that have crossed my path.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I think the people I have been so blessed to work with beside me in this industry has truly taught me the most throughout my growing career. Not only as a medical assistant but now as an esthetician. I’ll never forget working for Kate Somerville back in 2017 and hearing her story on how she created her brand. It was so moving to me and to know her as truly one of the most humble people I have met in the industry. It motivated me to strive to not only learn and become a great esthetician but a good person as well in the outside world of all that.
Also, working with Crystal Koro, she has taught me so much, taught me how to enhance my techniques, how to be more confident when talking to clients. I feel honored to be able to learn from some of the best in this industry.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self I would say, be you! Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t be who you want to be or what career you should be in.

I think that I was always afraid of being my true-self because there was apart of me that cared so much about what other people would think of me. Especially, today with social media I find myself holding back at times but I’m like why? Why do I care that much? I, continue to find myself asking these questions. It’s always much easier to give advice than take your own. I know if I didn’t care as much I would become much more successful in every aspect of my life than I am today.
I hope my younger self would be proud of the woman, mom, friend, partner, and colleague I have become today.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Smart people getting it totally wrong today, is not showing the TRUE potential they have. Me, included. This is why I say this and why I like this question. Once, we show our true potential we will take on the world! Seriously.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
Something, that I will regret not doing is, growing my social media platform on my skin page. I have a lot of knowledge to share and I know I have been holding back on not sharing it. I don’t ever want to regret that I didn’t try to create a brand for myself and my own business one day. In life we take risks and sometimes the hardest risks we take become the most successful. I find this to be true.
