Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Cory Dillard

We recently had the chance to connect with Cory Dillard and have shared our conversation below.

Cory, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m the type of person who’s aligned with a path, walks it, but also enjoys wandering detours. Side quests keep life spicy!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I consider this uniquely innovative experience liberated tie-dye art, and wellness entertainment. VybeTye’s mission is create community engagement and provide memorable artistic experiences. Making strides to create a calm and colorfully connected community with sound bowl meditation, tie-dye art, and positive energy!

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Traveling abroad for my first time ever in the city of Barcelona, Spain. I was seated at a table, outside of a cafe, world watching. As the world was operating around me, I thought to myself, “Interesting… where ever I am in the world, people do the same exact things, just with different languages and customs.”

It was confirmation that humans truly are all one. Not only that, I was humbled, realizing I was gifted to be born in the US!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Creation is the gateway to well rounded human growth. Continuously find joy in learning, and learn things bring you positive joy.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The Golden Rule, “Treat Others the way you want to be treated”. This core value has been incremental in my growth and success as a human being. It boils down to every human doing their best to survive and thrive daily. Being a positive light reciprocates positive light, especially when darkness seems to be present in our daily lives.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
STRESSING. I’d immediately stop stressing and fully let life take the reins. I’m practicing that now, but it’s harder to fully let go, allowing life take its magical course, when you’re constantly pondering and working for your future.
