Hi Beorht, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity is most important to me.
Intelligence and energy are powerful tools, but without integrity, they can easily be misused. I’ve met brilliant and energetic people, but what makes someone truly stand out—what makes them lasting—is their character. Integrity is what keeps you grounded when success starts knocking and what defines you when no one’s watching. Whether I’m designing, acting, cooking, or just being a friend, I want the people around me to feel like they can trust me and see that I move with intention and respect. That matters more than just talent or hustle.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Beorht Lewinski. I’m an entertainer, designer, chef, and entrepreneur originally from
Ghana and Trinidad.
I own a self-named shoe brand, a clothing collection company, and I’m currently working on opening my own restaurant. What makes my work unique is that it’s all deeply personal—everything I create comes from lived experience. I moved around a lot growing up, and each place shaped my style, mindset, and creativity in different ways.
Whether it’s fashion, food, or performance, I’m always telling a story. I want people to feel something when they interact with my work—whether they’re wearing it, watching it, or tasting it. That’s what keeps me going.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I don’t remember how young I was, but I went to visit my oldest brother after school—mostly to steal some of his designer shoes and clothes, and maybe ask him for some money too. [laughs] When I got there, he was playing a video game with some of his friends. I remember him pausing, turning to them, and saying, “Everyone say hi to my little brother—he’s going to be a star.”
That moment stuck with me. At the time, I didn’t fully understand what I wanted to be or where I was headed, but he saw something in me before I ever did. It meant the world to hear that from someone I looked up to so much. He’s always been a big inspiration in my life—he gives great advice, he leads with quiet strength, and he’s one of the first people who made me feel like I had something special in me. That simple introduction shaped how I started to see myself and my potential.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“I’d tell my younger self, ‘You’re not lost—you’re just gathering pieces of yourself in every place you land.’ Every move, every struggle, every moment of feeling out of place is shaping the powerful, creative force you’re becoming. Keep going. You’re building something the world hasn’t seen yet.”
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
“They’d say what really matters to me is staying true to who I am—no matter where I am or who’s watching. They know I value creativity, loyalty, and putting love into everything I do, whether it’s a design, a dish, a friendship, or a dream. They’d also say I care deeply about growth—not just for myself, but for everyone I care about.”
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
“I feel most at peace when I’m by myself. I genuinely enjoy my own company—whether I’m shopping, eating, working, cleaning, cooking, or just existing in silence. I’ve got a whole world in my head, from inner voices to alter egos, and I find comfort in their presence. I’m what you’d call a popular loner—not because I don’t like people, but because humans can be incredibly draining. Solitude keeps me grounded. Without those quiet moments alone, I’d lose myself.”
