Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Ashanna Bri of Los Angeles

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ashanna Bri. Check out our conversation below.

Ashanna , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What battle are you avoiding?
The biggest battle that I’m avoiding right now, is imposter syndrome and getting in my own way. There are times that you’re so focused on what you’re doing, that you’re caught in a creative tornado, when it finally settles, you come out of it sometimes wondering if you really deserve your blessings, is this really an extension of your hard work, and are you good enough? The answer is always and simply, YES!!!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Ashanna Bri, an Actress, Model, Host, and Creative. My journey has always been about bridging gaps and creating space for body diversity, ethnic diversity, and unique talents to shine. I’m passionate about challenging mainstream archetypes and telling stories that feel more real, honest, and inclusive. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of being the face of an international Sephora campaign, hosting on a global stage, and now bringing characters to life as part of the TV series The Black Hamptons.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose, is “Miss People Pleaser”. For a long time, I thought it was safest to stay agreeable, to not rock the boat. But life showed me, the ones who truly stand out are the ones willing to make waves, take bold, unapologetic steps, and embrace risk with intention. Not blind risk, but well thought out paths that lead to grand returns.

There’s nothing more powerful than standing in your truth. “Miss People Pleaser” may have taught me how to blend in, but now, I know my power is in standing out.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that once held me back most was self-reflection. For a long time, when I looked in the mirror, I didn’t see anyone who looked like me in the spaces I dreamed of entering. I convinced myself I wasn’t worthy of the same spotlight as those who didn’t share my reflection, self sabotage was real;
But the truth was the opposite! What I thought made me unworthy was actually the very thing that made me stand out.

My reflection was never a shortcoming, it was my strength. It was beautiful, uniquely mine. I just had to learn to honor it, and to tell my story in my own way.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I truly believe faith, when paired with the power of manifestation, creates an unshakable bond. I’ll tread lightly with this one; sometimes you need a touch of “delusion” to bring big bold dreams to life.

The most vivid dreams often feature something magical, something that feels a little extra extraordinary. Heavy on the “Extra-ordinary”. When you’re called to stand out, it takes both tenacity and audacity to move in ways that might seem bigger than what’s considered “possible.” That’s where faith and manifestation meet.

Faith reminds us that anything is possible (magical), while manifestation allows us to align our energy with what we long to attract (Extraordinary). Together, they’ve turned my boldest visions into realities more beautifully than I could’ve ever imagined.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I find my deepest peace in nature. Life can bring so much noise — distractions, illusions, things that pull us away from ourselves and one another. But nature has a way of bringing me back. It’s beautifully complex, yet simple.

A gentle breeze reminds me to slow down and breathe, take it all in slowly. A sunset shows me what true beauty really is; the colors, the hues, the vibrancy, it glows profoundly. Rain teaches me that sunshine always follows, and that we need both. And the trees… they breathe life into us, a quiet reminder to honor the world around us.

Nature, in its own way, is healing. It both recharges, and stabilizes us.
