Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Andre Forrest of Burbank

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Andre Forrest. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Andre , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: When was the last time you felt true joy?
I feel joy any time that I’m on set or in a dance studio.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Andre Forrest, and I’m an actor, choreographer, and photographer. I’ve always been passionate about storytelling, and each of these creative lanes gives me a unique way to bring stories to life—through performance, movement, and visual imagery.
What makes my work special is how these disciplines connect. Acting teaches me emotion and character, choreography lets me express rhythm and intention through movement, and photography helps me capture moments that feel honest and alive. Blending all three allows me to create work that’s dynamic, expressive, and rooted in authenticity.
Right now, I’m focused on developing new projects across both performance and visual arts, continuing to explore how movement, character, and imagery intersect. I’m excited to keep growing, collaborating, and sharing my creative voice with new audiences.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I guess I used to believe that there would always be an explanation or instructions on how to do things, but there aren’t. Sometimes you have to just go with the flow and figure things out the best that you can. That’s all any of us can do.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self it would be, “No matter what never let anyone or anything make you feel like you are lesser than or that you don’t fit in. The right people will find you.”

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me, what you see is what you get. I’m not one to put on a mask for anyone. Takes too much effort when it’s so simple to just be yourself.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think one of the things people will misunderstand about me is how I never went down the beaten path. I’ve never really been a follower, and with the passions and goals that I have in life, that was never really an option. I’ve always had to find my own way and honestly that’s been very exciting. I love not knowing what tomorrow brings yet I always have the same mission, To create and collaborate.
