Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with many businesses the road is Almost Never smooth. We opened in 2002. since then we had amazing 6 years until 2008 when the global and especially United States financial crisis hit us hard. The next two years were extremely slow and trying for us and I had to let go of 3 employees. We had to borrow money a few times to stay afloat. And just when I thought that we might have to close our doors in 2010 things started turning around. It’s been rough since then as well, to pay off the debts. But we have persevered. Thank God. Then later on. the plaza across the street from us all two blocks of it Was purchased by some group, demolished and it took years to build it back up. They’ve also had hard time filling up the brand new spaces. Whole Foods anchored it for over 11 years now it is Gone and instead of it. We’ve got Trader Joe’s, Sephora, Nordstrom Rack, Chipotle TJ Maxx across the street. Let’s hope everyone does well!
