Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Page.
Hi Joseph, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Absolutely. My story isn’t just a timeline—it’s a testimony.
I was born in Pineville, Louisiana, but raised in the heart of California. I came up in the church, surrounded by strong faith and even stronger prayers. But like many, I veered off that path. Addiction, homelessness, rejection—I lived through it all. In 2018, I lost everything in a fire and found myself without a home for five years. But that season of ashes became the soil for something divine.
During that wilderness, I wasn’t just surviving—I was being remade. I walked Skid Row, ministered on street corners in Nebraska, and learned that helping others didn’t require money—just love. In the darkness, I met the Lord again. Not religion. Not rituals. A real relationship. He met me low, and began raising me up.
My healing truly began through outreach—especially with street evangelist Vince Lizama. I was living in a bedbug-infested sober living home, renting a bottom bunk with 13 other men. I had nothing but a backpack, a Bible, and a voice. But I said yes. Yes to purpose. Yes to rebuilding. Yes to being used—even in the brokenness.
Then came The Hemet Beat. What started as a local media experiment became a Kingdom movement. It’s more than news—it’s community, it’s faith, it’s restoration in motion. We built it to inform, uplift, and engage people who’ve been overlooked. I also launched Joseph Mekael Page Ministries and a broader digital ministry called the Digital Ministry Establishment, designed to equip churches and nonprofits with media tools to preach, teach, and reach in the digital era.
Today, I live in Riverside, sober and restored, running media programs, mentoring artists, leading digital therapy groups, and broadcasting hope every morning on The Hemet Beat Daily Show. I went from being a man who had no place to lay his head to a man leading others into purpose.
This is more than a comeback. It’s a calling. And it’s only the beginning.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth? Not even close. But every crack in the pavement had purpose.
This road has been paved with loss, rejection, and spiritual warfare. There were times I was unseen, unheard, and uninvited. I’ve slept in shelters and tents, watched people walk past like I was invisible, and endured health battles that nearly took me out. After the fire that left me homeless in 2018, I spiraled deeper into addiction. I lost not just my possessions—but my identity.
There were moments I begged God to take the pain away, not realizing He was using it to rebuild me from the inside out. I had to unlearn survival and relearn sonship. I had to forgive people who left me for dead. I had to forgive myself.
Trying to rebuild your life while navigating mental health systems, DPSS offices, and the cold silence of bureaucracy is brutal. You’re told to get help—but when you reach, the hands are often missing. That’s why I fight so hard now—to be the hand that wasn’t there for me.
Even after launching The Hemet Beat, there were storms—people trying to hijack the vision, institutions stealing ideas I shared in good faith, and seasons where support was nowhere to be found. I’ve had to learn how to move forward with no budget, no staff, no blueprint—just obedience.
But it’s been those struggles that gave me the oil. The crushing produced clarity. The fire revealed gold. The valley taught me how to lead.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But it’s been sacred. And I wouldn’t trade the road for anything, because God walked it with me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Hemet Beat LLC?
The Hemet Beat isn’t just a brand—it’s a heartbeat. Born in the trenches and built for the people, The Hemet Beat is a digital media platform rooted in truth, testimony, and transformation. We specialize in community-powered storytelling, hyper-local journalism, event promotion, and media production that reflects the real lives and voices of Hemet, Riverside County, and beyond.
We air a daily livestream show from 8:30 to 9:30 AM—The Hemet Beat Daily Show—where we deliver local news, interviews, events, weather, Scripture, and music that inspires. Our content is raw, unfiltered, and powered by purpose. We amplify artists, advocate for the marginalized, and call attention to what matters most—faith, family, justice, and community.
Alongside the Beat, I run Joseph Mekael Page Ministries, a faith-based umbrella covering our Digital Ministry Establishment. We help ministries, nonprofits, and creatives build online platforms that shine with clarity and Kingdom impact. Whether it’s graphic design, social media strategy, podcasting, or custom websites—we teach people how to preach, create, and empower in the digital age.
What sets us apart? We come from the struggle, so we never forget the streets. I don’t just run a media company—I live the message. I’m known not for fancy titles, but for showing up, speaking truth, and building platforms for those the world tends to overlook. We’re not funded by institutions—we’re fueled by faith.
I’m most proud of the fact that we’re doing all this with integrity. No gimmicks, no exploitation—just gospel grit and grassroots glory. Our brand honors God while serving the people. And our motto? “Powered by Purpose. Come Alive in 25.”
If you’re a ministry needing a digital presence, a local artist needing exposure, or a nonprofit looking for a voice—we’ve got you. We don’t just make media. We make impact.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
To me, faith is the greatest risk you’ll ever take—because it requires you to believe in something you can’t yet see, build something the world says won’t work, and walk toward a future that hasn’t unfolded yet. But I don’t just take risks—I live them.
Launching The Hemet Beat was a risk. I had no funding, no sponsorships, no roadmap—just a mandate from God and a laptop. I was still healing, still housing insecure, still rebuilding my life. But I knew the vision was real, and I believed that if I moved, God would multiply.
Another major risk? Speaking boldly in places where silence is safer. I’ve risked relationships, opportunities, and my own comfort by standing up for truth in mental health systems, government spaces, and ministry circles. I’ve walked into boardrooms where I didn’t “belong” and still claimed my seat. Why? Because if you’re called to be a voice, staying quiet is the real danger.
Risk isn’t just about jumping out of planes—it’s about walking into purpose when your past tells you you’re not worthy. It’s choosing to create when critics are louder than your supporters. It’s forgiving people who never said sorry. It’s planting when there’s no rain in the forecast.
I don’t play it safe. Not because I’m reckless, but because I serve a God who doesn’t move by caution—He moves by faith. And when He says go, I go.
To anyone reading: your destiny is on the other side of that risk you keep avoiding. Take the leap. God will catch you—or teach you how to fly.
