Inspiring Conversations with Dr. Jason Cellars

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jason Cellars.

Hi Dr. Cellars, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got into dentistry because I enjoyed math and science and loved working with my hands. It was not until I started working on patients that I realized how much I loved cosmetic dentistry and full mouth reconstruction. I started learning from the greats, like Dr. Bill Dorfman and Dr. Michael Apa and realized that there were so many important nuances about comprehensive dentistry that weren’t taught in school. I wanted to be able to provide the best services for my patients and then moved to wanting to help other aspiring dentists to be able to change lives through comprehensive dental care. After opening our second office in Los Angeles, we were able to train new tenured dentists on advanced dentistry and cosmetics. We now seek out offices and dentists who are wanting to the best for their patients to give them the training and guidance to take them to the next level. It is through this that we feel we are able to impact the most amount of lives. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest obstacles were with management of people and finding the right information. Being able to manage people is a skill that I will continue to improve on throughout my career and is crucial to the success of any organization. The main thing that I have learned is that you will never be prepared for everything and that you just need to be ready to pivot and jump at opportunities. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a cosmetic and general dental office that is changing the dental experience. Too many people have horror stories about the dentist that derive from patients not being heard or given priority. We revised the dental experience by creating a patient-centered office and treatment philosophy. Putting our patients first and leading the industry in technology and expertise creates an experience that used to be foreign in the dental field. 

Who else deserves credit in your story?
So many mentors and supporters along the way that have been a huge help and who I could not have made it this far without. In my professional career, I would not be the dentist that I am without the mentorship of Dr. Dorfman and Dr. Apa. Learning cosmetic dentistry from the best in the world is an opportunity that I am grateful to have had. I also would not be where I am today without the support of my friends and family, in particular, my amazing mother and loving fiancé, who support and encourage me through all parts of the journey.
