Erin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The outdoor furniture commodity was very much a family affair for me growing up. My father had great expertise in outdoor cooking elements from Barbecues to Fire Pits and Tables. Having cut my teeth, learning the ropes there, I was well-positioned to succeed when I eventually branched out into my own entrepreneurial endeavors.
Willow Creek Designs was established here in Los Angeles, CA growing from 2 collections to 11 as of 2024. After taking a trip to Indonesia to source the finest materials and manufacturing, we hit the ground running. Today, our Grade-A teak products are lovingly handcrafted and our cozy cushions are sewn by hand in North Hollywood, CA.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any business, there are growing pains associated with becoming a leader in outdoor furniture. The key to overcoming these challenges is forging strong relationships. At Willow Creek Designs, we pride ourselves on our ability to connect personally with each of our customers to execute their unique outdoor visions. Our customers show us love with every purchase, so we strive to reciprocate that sentiment by going above and beyond in providing them with service. What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Michigan, I developed a keen interest in sports and athletics. The determination and refusal to quit in my running career was a directly transferable skillset when it came time to establish myself as a business man. Races are not won all at once, but rather one step at a time. Building a highly respected brand is much the same. I espouse these values to each member of my staff and trust that the work ethic is reflected in every aspect of our business from production to delivery.
