Inspiring Conversations with Ellie Diop of Eliza Revella Consulting Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellie Diop.

Hi Ellie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a 29 years old mother of four, and I started my business in July 2020, four months after finalizing my divorce and moving back to my mom’s house. I always tell people that I started my business out of absolute necessity. Before becoming an entrepreneur, I worked in corporate America as a director of sales for a financial services start-up. I was laid off from that job in 2019 and gave birth to my twins shortly after. Over a period of nine months, I was laid off, had twin babies,  got divorced, and I had to look for a way to support my family through the pandemic.

I decided to start my business because I knew that I had business knowledge and skills that I could monetize. So I leveraged those skills and started my coaching & consulting business Eliza Revella Consulting Services LLC, more publicly known as Ellie Talks Money.

During the pandemic, I used the $1200 stimulus check to start my business and turned that $1200 to $1.2million in 10 months. Since then, my business has continued to grow and is now a multi-million dollar business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There were definitely obstacles along the way, specifically overcoming imposter syndrome and gathering the courage to promote myself and my business every day.

It can be a challenge to start a coaching and consulting business because the market appears saturated. However, I’ve learned that there is no such thing as marker saturation, it’s simply our job as entrepreneurs to market and position ourselves differently so that we stand out.

I would say another challenge was accurately pricing my products and services. After seeing how valuable my services and products were to my clients, I overcame that by testing different price points and then sticking with what worked.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
ERCS, more widely known as Ellie Talks Money is my coaching & consulting company. I help entrepreneurs scale their online business through digital product development and marketing & business funding education.

I help businesses and new entrepreneurs profit by showing them how to promote their products and services online & on social media better. In addition, we help entrepreneurs monetize their passions and skills in the form of digital products & digital education.

Lastly, we educate entrepreneurs on how to acquire business credit & funding through financial literacy education. This encompasses money management as well as creative investing strategies so that they can increase their income streams.

Our brand believes in creating more access to entrepreneurship, business literacy and financial literacy in order to increase the number of 6 & 7 figure earners in the Black community.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about LA is the pace of life and the different pockets of diversity throughout the city. I’m born and raised in LA so I will always love it here. What I love least about the city would be the high prices and gentrification!!
