Inspiring Conversations with Amy Toscano of AM Sunrise Acupuncture & Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Toscano.

Hi Amy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Taiwan, so I grew up using Chinese medicine. I’m also a classically trained concert pianist. As a mother of two, my experiences with pregnancy—and overcoming long-standing health issues that hadn’t responded to Western medicine—inspired me to study Eastern medicine and it fit in nicely with my background! Acupuncture, like music, is an art form and requires many years of studying and also technical ability.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Returning to school after motherhood was a huge commitment and required a lot of patience and hard work. It’s all paying off as my business is taking off and seeing my patients thrive is incredibly meaningful and rewarding.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I specialize in and am passionate about women’s health. People know acupuncture is great for fertility, but it’s not just that. Regulating the menstruation cycle is important, addressing emotional and mental health, and eventually dealing with pre- and post-menopause – if you put all that together that’s what makes women’s health whole. Many patients have told me that they don’t feel heard at their regular medical doctor’s visits, and that’s what I offer that is different. Chinese medicine looks at the whole body and using acupuncture, herbs and other tools like gua sha or fire cupping we work together to bring all the systems back into balance. Of course, looking beautiful is an important part of women’s health and facial acupuncture is really effective for that too. My goal is to help us keep thriving no matter which stage you are at.

Any big plans?
My clinic is open part time right now so I can pursue my doctoral. I plan to open full time in May 2026 and would like to keep expanding my presence in the community and introducing people to the beautiful Chinese medicine system because it can give people hope and opportunity for good health, like a morning sunrise
