Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Freedman.
Hi Veronica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started this journey from a deep love of supporting women and families during some of the biggest moments of their lives. What began as a personal passion slowly grew into something much bigger as I realized how important it is for people to feel seen, informed, and supported through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
My story has also been deeply shaped by personal loss and hardship. Losing my mom changed me in ways I never expected, and walking alongside my son through three major heart surgeries gave me a firsthand understanding of fear, vulnerability, advocacy, and the importance of compassionate support during medical journeys. Those experiences strengthened my faith, deepened my empathy, and ultimately shaped the way I care for others today.
Over time, through both education and hands-on experience, I stepped more fully into birth work and began building meaningful relationships with the families I serve. Every client and every birth has shaped me in different ways and continues to remind me why I do this work.
Today, I’m grateful to be in a place where I can support families not only practically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. I’ve learned that this work is less about “arriving” somewhere and more about continuing to grow, learning, and showing up well for others in each season.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. There have been seasons where I didn’t have any clients and questioned whether I was truly good enough for this work. Building a business while trying to grow in confidence can feel really vulnerable at times.
At the same time, I’ve been navigating motherhood with three little ones in tow, which comes with its own challenges. Being on call, balancing family life, and trying to be fully present both at home and for clients hasn’t always been easy. There have been exhausting moments, sacrifices, and times where I’ve had to learn how to give myself grace.
Looking back, the struggles are actually what helped shape me into the person and doula I am today. They’ve taught me resilience, empathy, dependence on God, and the importance of showing up authentically for others.
As you know, we’re big fans of True Image Doula . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is centered around supporting families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the transitions that come with parenthood. I am a birth doula, postpartum doula, and birth/childbirth educator, and I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, educated, and genuinely cared for throughout their journey. My role goes far beyond simply attending births — I aim to walk alongside families emotionally, physically, educationally, and spiritually during some of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives.
I’m especially passionate about providing compassionate, personalized support that helps families feel empowered and confident in their decisions. I never want clients to feel like “just another number.” I want them to feel seen, heard, and deeply supported. Because of my own life experiences — including grief, medical trauma with my son’s heart surgeries, and navigating motherhood myself — I bring a level of empathy and understanding that naturally shapes the care I provide.
What sets me apart is the heart behind my work. I care deeply about building real relationships with my clients and creating a calming, judgment-free environment where they can fully be themselves. I understand firsthand that birth and postpartum don’t always go exactly as planned, and I believe support should remain steady no matter what that journey looks like.
As a birth and childbirth educator, I’m also passionate about helping families feel informed and prepared before entering birth and postpartum. Education can ease fear and build confidence, and I love helping clients understand their options so they can make decisions that feel right for their family.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my business has been built through connection, trust, and word of mouth. To me, that means families felt cared for enough to recommend me to others, and that’s something I never take lightly. I want readers to know that my brand is rooted in authenticity, compassion, faith, education, and genuine support for families in every season
