Esthetic Junkies LLC was established in July 2021 by Tess Arroyo and Kimberly Avalos, two master estheticians and boss babes! Tess and Kim met in 2020, mid pandemic by sharing a workspace. They became good friends and shared a drive to take over the beauty industry. Together as Esthetic Junkies, they offer unique personal care services, outstanding customer service, and a friendly atmosphere to a wide range of clientele coming from all over the greater Los Angeles area.

With their new bigger, beautiful full-service spa in Chatsworth, they will also employ personally trained estheticians to help keep up with the high demand of their ever-growing clientele and to provide a wide range of full-body pampering treatments.

Hi, I’m Tess! I am a LA native, homegrown in the San Fernando Valley. I am a small business owner, wife, and mother of 2 boys. I have been a licensed and practicing Esthetician since 2010. For over a decade, I have perfected my skills and knowledge in a wide range of esthetic services. While my favorite services are Advanced skincare and Semi-Permanent Cosmetics, I also have extensive experience with full body waxing, body contouring, spray tanning, lash extensions and more.

My goals are to enhance your natural beauty, provide education on proper home care, and deliver superior results. I truly love what I do and love my clients! Each client has beautifully unique features, so each person gets a fully customized beauty experience once I assess their needs and desired results.

My name is Kimberly Avalos, and my love for skincare started when I was working for a pharmaceutical company selling high-end skincare products to dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and licensed professionals over a decade ago. Once licensed, I worked for European Wax Center where I learned to perfect the art of waxing using hard wax, as well as a local spa performing facials and advanced skincare techniques.

I was inspired to grow my business when I began working from home in 2020. With the help of social media, I introduced my signature Vajacial treatment. My clientele grew rapidly and I decided to upgrade to a professional studio in North Hollywood. This is where I met Tess and learned so much more about being a small business owner.

I was born and raised here in the San Fernando Valley. I am married and a mother to a three years old boy. My life is busy but I absolutely love what I do! My favorite services are Brazilian Waxing and Vajacial treatments, but I perform head to toe skincare and esthetic treatments as well. It brings me joy to see my clients excited about their skin improvements and the confidence they exude after their treatments.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
2020 was a huge challenge being in the beauty industry with the back and forth of the shutdowns like many small businesses, we struggled to keep our doors open. As moms, we also had to worry about keeping our kids educated and emotionally and socially fulfilled, all while dealing with it all ourselves. Luckily, we did get (some delayed) financial help from the government to stay afloat. Also, we are in the right business in LA, people here consider self-care a priority and wanted to come in for their services any way they could. We were working on our patio at home in 110-degree weather at one point, but our clients were just thankful for us trying to accommodate them.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Teamwork makes the dream work! We both left our jobs and worked solo (separately) a few years ago, which was a great decision for the time. However, through the pandemic and now growing and opening a full spa with employees and having families to take care of, it can be a lot, and we are so happy to be doing it together and support each other.
