Hidden Gems: Meet Rachel McCord of The McCord List

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel McCord.

Hi Rachel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in Georgia in a family that faced a lot of hardship. For years, I wrestled with pain, trauma, and the feeling that my voice didn’t matter. But over time, I realized that what had broken me could also become the foundation for my purpose.

When I came to Hollywood, I didn’t have connections or a roadmap — just a belief that stories could change lives. I started The McCord List as a community to empower women in entertainment, and it grew into a global movement of creators, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders using their platforms for purpose.

Through that journey, I built The McCord List Media Network, which now reaches over 90 million households across Roku, Amazon Prime, Samsung TV Plus, and Tubi. We develop and distribute purpose-driven content with authors, coaches, and entrepreneurs — helping them turn their pain into platforms and their message into media that moves people.

After surviving open-heart surgery in 2024, everything came into even sharper focus. I rededicated my life to showing others that visibility isn’t about vanity — it’s about impact. Every show, event, and partnership we create now centers on that truth: your voice has power, and the world needs to hear it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road — but I wouldn’t trade the journey. I’ve walked through trauma, abuse, rejection, and deep seasons of doubt. There were times I questioned everything — my worth, my purpose, even if I’d ever truly heal.

When I came into the entertainment industry, I faced the pressure to perform and the temptation to fit a mold that didn’t reflect who I really was. I also struggled with imposter syndrome — feeling called to big things, but still healing from a broken past.

Then, in 2024, I faced one of my hardest battles: open-heart surgery. That experience reset everything for me. It reminded me that success without peace isn’t success at all.

But through every hardship, God met me with grace. What once felt like pain became purpose. Now, I use my story — and our media network — to remind others that the very things that broke you can be the foundation God uses to build something beautiful.

We’ve been impressed with The McCord List, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The McCord List Media Network develops and distributes purpose-driven shows with authors, coaches, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders who want to make an impact through media. We specialize in turning messages into movements — helping creators build, film, and launch shows that reach millions of households through Roku, Amazon Prime, Samsung TV Plus, and Tubi.

What sets us apart is the heart behind what we do. In an industry that often celebrates fame, we celebrate purpose. Every conversation, collaboration, and production is built around authenticity, transformation, and faith.

We offer end-to-end support through our TV Show Accelerators, media production, marketing, and distribution services, giving our clients not just exposure — but legacy. Our team helps refine their brand, shape their message, and produce content that resonates with both purpose and excellence.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that we’ve built something that merges Hollywood-level storytelling with heart-led leadership. The McCord List has evolved from a women’s empowerment community into a global media movement, reaching over 90 million households while staying true to its mission: to amplify voices that bring light.

At the end of the day, I want readers to know this — you don’t have to compromise your values to build influence. You can lead with heart, live in purpose, and still create extraordinary success. That’s what The McCord List stands for.

How do you define success?
Success, to me, is about peace, purpose, and impact. It’s living in alignment with what God has called me to do and using my gifts to serve others.

It’s seeing transformation — when someone steps into their calling, finds their voice, or rediscovers hope because of something they experienced through our work.

It’s building a business that creates opportunity, connection, and legacy. Success is walking in faith, leading with heart, and watching the ripple effect of what happens when people live out their purpose with courage and conviction.
