Hidden Gems: Meet Naomi Schlosser of Naomi Summer Styles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi Schlosser.

Naomi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my career as a hairstylist in high school, enrolling in a beauty school program in Houston, Texas. From there I continued my education at Orange County Toni and guy academy in California. I had big dreams and high expectations for my career in the beauty industry. I took a leap and only applied to the best assisting opportunities in Beverly Hills. I landed with an amazing opportunity, assisting a celebrity hairstylist in Beverlyhills CA. After completing my assisting program, I began working as a hairstylist for many celebrities. My career has consisted of servicing many celebrities sense. Celebrity hairstyles, hair color, hair extensions, wigs and more! Hair for photoshoots, clients, productions, movies, red carpets, TMZ and more! I do all textures, I specialize in all things hair!

When I first started beauty school in high school, “I would say I’m going to be a celebrity hairstylist in Beverly Hills!” I had many people tell me I would not make it, very thankful to say I have made it! I love what I do and I enjoy every second of it!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In Beverly Hills, you have to be luxurious and you have to be the best! While working my way to the top I learned just how to master this! During my journey in the beauty industry, I have overcome many obstacles and struggles! But every mistake is always a learning lesson!

Learning to maintain professionalism, perfection and communication never came easy to me. I worked hard and tuned in while assisting, and I continue to communicate with other hairstylists in the industry making sure I take their advice and apply it! One thing I have learned in this industry is to admit when you’re wrong and learn from it! The great thing about the beauty industry is everyone is forgiving everyone is loving everyone is just wanting to look and feel their best! The feeling of satisfaction when you make someone feel beautiful will always overcome any negative stress or struggles.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Naomi Summer Styles?
As a business owner, I enjoy being an independent contractor, I love being able to freely schedule and manage my appointments for clients, productions, photoshoots, etc. all on my own time. I specialize in all things hair but my favorite thing to do are wigs for a burning stunt double! Something about the rush of adrenaline and the satisfaction of creating a movie truly excites me! But for many years, I was behind the chair and cut and color were my specialty! So hair color and haircutting will always have a special place in my heart! Keeping healthy hair is my true passion and I have it down to a science!

I’m known for being one of the first to specialize in doing beach waves, I assisted in bringing in the trend! But my heart lies in big voluminous specialty hairstylists! I love creating hairstyles and wigs that are out of the box! One thing I love most about my brand is I have created a business selling wigs, extensions in more! This allows me to provide hair for productions, that I myself would not otherwise be included in! It’s a way of extending my brand beyond my own reach! I love seeing a celebrity wearing my wig, whether or not I installed it or someone else did! I only use 100% human hair that is from one single donor! Clients and productions praise over the quality!

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I would watch my grandma curl her hair every morning at 5 AM. Before the age of three, I was using her hot rollers to roll my own hair. When I began Elementary school, I would see all the other little girls with cool twists, braids and hairstyles. Unfortunately, my mother was not skilled in the hair department. So I began to braid and style my own hair by the second grade! Later during middle school, I would cut my neighbor’s hair, everyone around me knew I wanted to be a hairstylist, from a very young age. I grew up with three brothers and they all wanted me to cut their hair on a regular basis. They truly referred me over going to the salon! For Any homecoming, prom or school dance event, I would style all my friend’s hair! Hair has always been my passion and I believe it always will be!
