Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi Clark.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Naomi Clark, CMT, discovered her passion for massage therapy through a personal journey of healing. Struggling with a debilitating herniated disc and sciatic issue, she experienced the transformative power of clinical massage firsthand. Motivated by her own recovery, Naomi embarked on a mission to extend this relief to others in need.
Graduating from A New Beginnings School of Massage in Austin, Texas in 2016, Naomi has continuously expanded her expertise, completing over 50 hours of additional training in myofascial release. Specializing in myofascial release, deep tissue technique, neuromuscular active release, and other clinical modalities, she brings a comprehensive approach to her practice.
With a background spanning spas, gyms, and medical environments, Naomi possesses the versatility to tailor each session to meet her clients’ unique needs. Her proficiency extends to dynamic/static cupping and Graston scraping techniques, further enhancing her ability to provide targeted therapeutic solutions. It is because of her technique and physical strength that she as attracted sponsored athletes, body builders, and NFL offensive linemen.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Naomi leads an active lifestyle, immersing herself in the world of fitness. Since 2020, she has pursued weightlifting seriously, complementing it with boxing since 2023. Training alongside a coach who is a competitive bodybuilder enriched her understanding of the symbiotic relationship between bodywork and athletic performance.
In 2022, Naomi felt drawn to California, seeking alignment with her purpose. Outside of her practice, she finds solace in regular beach visits, leisurely bike rides along the LA river, and quality time with her little cat, Shloopin.
Naomi Clark, CMT, embodies a dedication to holistic wellness, leveraging her expertise to empower clients on their journey to optimal health and vitality.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This entire journey has been laced with many ups and downs. While in massage school I was faced with multiple personal obstacles; so much so that I wasn’t sure Id graduate. Im very grateful for the instructors who saw my talent and refused to allow life circumstances to rob me of an opportunity.
Id say one of the biggest bumps was uprooting myself, my developing practice, and moving out here to California. In Texas I worked with one of the highest rated sports massage businesses there was, and there was very little room for growth past that point. My boyfriend at the time had family out here and we would come to visit pretty regularly. Each time we visited, an little piece of my heart stayed until October 2021, when i was physically uncomfortable sitting in the airport. That entire flight home I plotted and planned. I filed for my certificate from CAMTC the next day and got approved that February. We made the cross country drive in April of 2022.
I moved out here thinking I would be able to just copy and paste my practice from Austin and I could not have been more wrong. I started renting space inside of South By Strength Company and had to close within 4 months. The commute and the rent drained my savings and I hardly knew anyone to sustain an active practice. I just assumed that because I know I’m good at what I do, others would too. However, SBSC would prove to be a valuable contact time and time again, eventually putting me in contact with my first NFL client.
One thing I learned very quickly upon relocating was that LA moves differently than Austin and I needed to figure out where I fit. After SBSC I spent another 2.5 years bouncing from places like Equinox, chiropractor’s offices and private gyms that were not a good fit. With each experience I gained people who would support my business be it clients, my mentor Kendall or clients who would eventually turn into friends. After having to leave the gym I was working with due to increased rent, I decided to open up a practice at home. Every thing felt like it was failing, including my relationship. I felt defeated and no matter how much proverbial mud I threw at the wall nothing was going to stick. The holiday season that year, family wise, was also very rough. The reality I was living was not what I moved out here for. Nevertheless, I persisted.
Its because of a chiropractor sleeping through two orientation meetings in January of 2025 that im renting the space that I am now. That situation was one of the most laughable professional experiences Ive ever had, but it felt like a test in trusting my inner knowing. It was at the in person orientation meeting that I would meet the MT who would introduce me to Martin, owner of Wnrs Circle Gym. In March of 2025 I opened my office inside of Wnrs and I have been practicing there ever since. While I do experience the usual woes of being self employed, things feel easier now. I have my own little home in North Hollywood with my cat Shloopin. This was my second year having clients in the NFL. I am excited to keep learning, growing and evolving my practice by means of sound and energy healing. The sky really is the limit.
Ill never forget the day I was venting to Kendall, my mentor, about my life and work struggles. She looked at me and said, “You’ll get there, babe. It usually takes about 3 years for things to come together, and when they do, you’ll know.” She proceeded to tell me about the day she woke up feeling settled. There was sunlight filtering through her window and some Bruno Mars song playing on her radio. After laying there for a moment, she was overcome with a sense of peace and an inner knowing that she had “made it”. Not in the sense that she had “buy a yacht money” but that she was safe and had laid roots that were thriving. October 2025 I had my own day, very much like that one. I remember peering out my window and seeing things a little brighter. My smile felt like it stretched further across my face and a glow I hadn’t felt in very a long time began to grow in my chest. I have come so far, and I still have so much to do.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Dynamic Body Mechanic?
I am what you call a wounded healer. I have a deep understanding of physical pain, emotional pain, how its stored in the body and how we can address it. To be able to walk this path means to have lived it.
Ive lived a very interesting and at times, painful life. In high school I lived in central Texas “off the grid” on a property with no running water or electricity. My father battled issues with drugs and alcoholism an my mother was not available. He was very abusive and she was very absent. He left this earth on Christmas Day of 2003, and his death permeated the holidays for quite some time. Its only as of this last year that I was able to find new meaning in the season. I have been estranged from my mother and siblings since 2016, and have navigated creating chosen family systems while learning how to give myself the love I never grew up with.
I have also dislocated my patella leaving my right knee bone on bone in some areas, and recovered from sciatica though physical therapy. I am not a stranger to physical pain and how debilitating it can be. Having my mobility taken away from me at 23 when I blew out my knee taught me a lot. We always feel invincible until we aren’t.
It is through all of this that I have done extensive therapy and EMDR to heal while gaining knowledge on how to hold space for myself, others and perform trauma informed body work. I am very in touch energetically, and excel at being able to read my clients as well as receive channeled messages for them from time to time.
My mom once told me that the body is a wonderful organic machine and it needs to be treated as such. She used that as a way to demonstrate eating healthfully, but in my experience it goes so much further than that. As humans we are capable of doing some amazing things. In the same way that our automobiles carry our bodies, our bodies carry our soul. At the end of the day our body is a vehicle for navigating life, performance and fun. Treating it as such is so important. This is where i come in. I am Naomi, the Dynamic Body Mechanic.
One other super important thing I wanted to add was that I dont piece out my treatment like so many other therapists do. They want to charge an additional 20$ for scraping, 30$ for CBD, and other modalities that I believe should be included in a bodywork service. When you book with me, you pay for my time and I give you everything in my power to provide the best service imaginable.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I really love the Finch app for mental health. Its like a virtual pet that helps you develop and stay consistent with healthy habits and self love. Its adorable and was really great if you’re feeling alone.
Coach Kasie on Instagram (@coachkasie) has been a FANTASTIC resource for technique. They always have some interesting, out of the box ways of doing the same old thing and I really enjoy the versatility. Watching their technique also makes me question things about my own, and ive developed new moves for my toolbox after being inspired by their content.
“Becoming Supernatural” by Dr Joe Dispenza and “The Tibetan Book of the Dead” are also pretty great when it comes to learning about meditation, how trauma imprints onto ones DNA, and about preparing for reincarnation and death through life.
Honorable mention goes to “Forget the Alamo: The Rise and Fall of an American Myth” by Bryan Burrough, Chris Tomlinson, and Jason Stanford. It completely dismantles all of the whitewashed information we were fed regarding the founders of Texas and what really went down. INCREDIBLE read.
