Today we’d like to introduce you to Mana Katayama
Hi Mana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my own eyelash salon as japanese style in the spring of 2014. Before that, I worked as an eyelash artist in Japan and here at a nail salon in weho for couple years as well. Luckily, I was one of the opening members and work in an amazing location. so I was able to find and meet customers from scratch, provide them with the skills they wanted, and gain a lot of experience at there. After that, I was able to confidently start my own salon, which had always been my goal, and do it in my own style. I will never forget the joy I felt when I was finally able to offer the menu and services I wanted, and start up in a salon with interior and location that was my own style.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Although I was confident in my skills, I was worried about whether customers would really come if I started on my own. I also had some difficulty doing business in English. However, I was able to communicate with customers in my own way, beyond words, through my skills and hospitality.

I have been running a specialty eyelash salon for 11 years now, and take pride in being a Japanese technician. I also have 15 years of experience as an eyelash artist. We have been pursuing skills that specializes only in eyelashes, including eyelash extensions, eyelash lift (perm) and eyelash tint (color).
I am working on Mondays and Saturdays only in Culver City. I have a wide variety of eyelashes, lengths, thicknesses, curls, and lengths to create natural, long-lasting, cute ideal eyelashes that you will love. If you are interested, please contact me.
How do you define success?
Setting clear goals and continuing to challenge yourself and make an effort without fear of failure. Achieving a goal that is worthwhile for you.
