Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Roberta.
Liz, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Entrepreneurship is my third career. I started on an investment banking grad scheme straight out of university and then went into fashion merchandizing looking for more creativity. However, that wasn’t fulfilling me either – and it was pursuing a book deal which indirectly led to the beginning of my business. In 2018, I was having so many words come through that I realized I was meant to write a book. To get a book deal, you have to be known as an authority in your topic, so I started blogging every week and posting inspirational quotes on an Instagram account. From there, it all grew organically, offering Tarot readings, then one-to-one coaching, then group programs, a membership, and online courses. I wake up every morning (early, around 5 am!) feeling lit up and so excited for what’s coming that day. I can’t wait to go on social media and open my emails. I love teaching and creating content. The whole thing lights me up so much and gives me energy – which is so different from when I was in corporate life, and it was the total opposite!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think any entrepreneur would call their path a smooth road! The years when I didn’t know what I was meant to be doing were hard, but they turned out to be the inspiration for writing my book, Living In Tune. Now, 4 years into my business, my biggest struggle is time management. Also, for the specific area that I’m in, people not understanding what I do. I feel as though people are moving forward with regard to integrating their spiritual self, but there is still a lot of toxic masculinity that gets in the way, particularly in the Western world. I would also love to have a few more hours in the day, as the to-do list never ends as an entrepreneur, and it’s hard to switch off from the online world when you’re always connected to it through your phone and laptop.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a coaching business that helps entrepreneurs in the spiritual, holistic, and wellness space to create the income and impact they truly desire, without doubt, fear, or limiting money stories. I run various different programs to help with this: a Sacred Sisters private members community for female entrepreneurs, my Spiritual Coaching Academy certification, and my Money Medicine healing for wealth program, to name a few!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
My favorite thing about LA is the creative current that runs through it – I feel more lit up and inspired here than anywhere else in the world. It feels like there is true freedom of expression in this city, and the food culture is amazing! I’m a massive fan of Urth Caffe and Cafe Gratitude, as well as Alfred for chagaccinos. The incredible weather makes it easy to be outside every day under the palm trees, and nothing beats the views after hiking up Runyon Canyon or Griffith Park.
What I like least about the city is the huge income disparity. It feels like you’re between two different worlds sometimes. Coming from England where there’s free healthcare, it’s really shocking to see people passed out on the sidewalk from drug overdoses without being immediately picked up by an ambulance and taken to hospital. That’s something I can’t get used to, and I really hope that more resources will be directed towards the homeless community and accessible addiction services soon.
