Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Russell.
Hi Kimberly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Kimberly Russell and I am the owner of The Cypress Center Physical Therapy, Pilates and Wellness center. The Cypress Center is a Physical Therapist and female owned clinic that was a community member in the Pacific Palisades for over 20 years. Unfortunately, the clinic was destroyed on January 7th, 2025, by the Pacific Palisades Fire.
The Cypress Center had served the community for decades providing one-on-one client focused treatment and care. I initially started working at The Cypress Center as an employee back in 2010 when I moved to California from Utah. I am a military wife, my husband served 20 years in the United States Airforce, and we got stationed here in California back in the summer of 2009. I worked at The Cypress Center for 4 years before the military sent us back east for 6 years. Then in 2019 we found out the military was going to be sending us back to California and I immediately returned to work at The Cypress Center. I was a physical therapist there for 3 more years and then purchased the clinic in October of 2023, when the previous owner decided to retire. I was determined to continue the one-on-one patient focused care that the center has always provided. I cared that the legacy and reputation of the clinic continue to support the Palisades community.
The Cypress Center was blessed and fortunate to serve the community with quality one-on-one care services until the devastating Palisades fire…services I am going to continue now after this disaster. We just opened our new location in Santa Monica, you can find us now at 1811 Centinela Ave!!!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No it has not been smooth…I lost my entire business in the Palisades fire back in January. I knew I could not give up, I needed to rebuild for my patients and clients.
