Hi Jazzy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started when I was researching holistic plants that could reduce inflammation. I suffered back pain from a car accident in 2014 and dealt with back pain for almost 9 years. When I found sea moss on Google I told myself it was worth trying. The first time I ever tried sea moss I did not like the taste of it, but I loved the way it made my body feel. I noticed not only did my pain reduce drastically, but it gave me the energy to be more active. It was embedded in my heart that more people had to know about sea moss but I wasn’t sure how I was going to get them to eat it. I started brainstorming and came to the conclusion if I were to mix sea moss with fruit maybe people would love it as much as I do. I made my first batch of fruit infused sea moss and asked my family to try it. They said they loved the way it taste and so my first customer was my mother. She handed me a $20 bill and told me I think it’s worth selling. Because of her, Chef Mossea was born and sold at 4 certified farmers markets across LA and OC.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The obstacles I faced included approval from the health department. Sea moss wasn’t a popular product at the time so it took a lot of convincing and permits to allow me to sell this product. Even certified kitchens were skeptical on what sea moss was and it took me almost a year to get a certified kitchen and health permits approved by the state. I never gave up and because of that, I now have the best rated sea moss in Long Beach CA
