Hidden Gems: Meet Elyse Conroy of Soul Makeup LLC/Elyse Conroy Confidence Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elyse Conroy

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
If you had told me years ago that I’d be coaching powerhouse women on career confidence & achieving executive + entrepreneurial, I would’ve thought you were crazy. My journey started in the beauty industry, where I spent 15 years leading product development, marketing, sales, and branding for some of the world’s biggest beauty brands. I created thousands of products—there’s a good chance something I developed is sitting in your bathroom right now.

I entered the beauty world for one reason: to help women feel beautiful, confident, secure, and good enough. But I quickly realized I was failing at that mission. The confidence these products provided was temporary—washed away at the end of the day, just like the makeup itself. I wasn’t solving the problem; I was contributing to it.

Despite the outward success—huge salary, first-class business trips, stock options, the perfect home and designer wardrobe—I felt empty inside. My life looked perfect on Instagram, but I was drowning in self-doubt and questioning my worth. I knew I needed change, but I had no idea where to start.

Then life made the decision for me. My dad was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer, and it forced me to step back. I left my corporate job, fully expecting to return to beauty. But during three months of much-needed space, I had a realization I couldn’t ignore: I had spent years marketing the belief that women needed external products to feel confident. That realization changed everything.

I couldn’t spend one more day selling women the idea that confidence was something they had to buy. I knew confidence wasn’t built from the outside in—it had to be created from within. So, I walked away from everything I had built and stepped into my true purpose: helping women build unshakable confidence from the inside out.

I now work with high-achieving women—executives, entrepreneurs, and ambitious professionals—who are ready to own their power, command respect, and lead with unwavering confidence. Through my coaching programs, retreats, workshops, and The Confidence Lounge podcast, I help women shatter self-imposed glass ceilings, silence perfectionism, and develop bulletproof self-trust so they can take bold action and achieve the success they were born for.

What sets my approach apart is that I don’t just teach confidence—I’ve lived it. I’ve built multi-million-dollar brands, managed best in class teams, optimized processes, and coached future executives. Now, I bring that same strategic expertise to women’s lives and careers, helping them create the success they desire—on their own terms.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. This road has been anything but smooth. After leaving the beauty industry, I had no idea who I was or what was next. I embarked on what I call my “Eat Pray Love year,” taking 15 trips across the world to rediscover myself and decide on my next chapter. It was a journey of deep self-reflection, healing, and reinvention.

I made the bold decision to launch my business, but the universe immediately tested me. The very week I launched, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. As if that wasn’t enough, I received a cease and desist letter from a $90 million company trying to shut down my trademark. I was then invited to share the stage with Boss Babe founder Natalie Ellis at Sarah Pendrick’s GirlTalk Festival, where I was set to speak in front of 500+ women. The day before I left for the event, I found out I was pregnant.

Despite everything, I showed up with unwavering determination, delivered a powerhouse speech, and walked away with a fully booked consultation calendar. But just when I thought I had momentum, life threw another curveball—I became sick, forcing me to cancel all future speaking engagements and consultations. Shortly after, I lost the baby. Just two days after that, the world went into lockdown, and my husband was out of work for months due to the pandemic.

It felt like everything was crumbling around me. But in that darkness, I created the most resilient version of myself—the strongest, most empowered, healed, and whole version of me that has ever existed. Through my own pain and resilience, I led my business with a new depth of power and intensity. I deeply related to the women I served because I had walked through the fire myself. I knew how to transmute pain into purpose, struggle into strength, and fear into fuel.

By the end of 2020, I had built a fully booked coaching practice and became highly sought after in the industry. Since then, I have led hundreds of retreats, workshops, and transformational events, coaching thousands of women worldwide on how to take bold, confident action—no matter what life throws at them.

I know firsthand what it means to lose everything and rebuild from the ground up. I’ve lived the journey of reinvention. And now, I teach women how to rise, rewrite their stories, and build the career confidence to claim the success and fulfillment they deserve. Because no matter how impossible it feels, you always have the power to create the life you truly want.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The confidence coaching and personal development industry is evolving rapidly, and over the next 5-10 years, I see some major shifts happening:

1. The Rise of Confidence as a Non-Negotiable Leadership Skill
Confidence is no longer seen as a “nice-to-have” but as an essential leadership trait. More companies will invest in confidence-building programs for women in leadership, recognizing that self-trust and executive presence are just as critical as technical skills for career advancement.

2. A Shift Toward Holistic Success & Work-Life Integration
Women are no longer just chasing titles and salaries—they want freedom, balance, and fulfillment. The trend is moving away from “hustle culture” and toward sustainable success, where confidence is the foundation for setting boundaries, negotiating for what you want, and designing a life that aligns with your values.

3. More Women Making Bold Career Moves & Quitting Misaligned Jobs
We’re seeing a confidence revolution where women are no longer tolerating toxic work environments, underpayment, or roles that don’t light them up. The idea that quitting is failure is shifting and instead it is now being seen as the highest form of self respect. Over the next decade, more women will take charge of their careers—quitting jobs that don’t serve them, negotiating higher salaries, and stepping into entrepreneurship.

4. The Integration of Nervous System Regulation & Embodiment Work
Confidence isn’t just a mindset—it’s a full-body experience. I predict we’ll see more science-backed tools like breathwork, EFT tapping, and somatic practices being integrated into leadership and confidence coaching to help women regulate their nervous systems and take action without fear stopping them.

5. The Rise of AI & Its Impact on Personal Branding & Visibility
As AI continues to advance, personal branding will become more important than ever. Women who want to stand out in their industries will need to confidently own their voice, share their expertise online, and position themselves as thought leaders to remain competitive in a world where automation is replacing traditional roles.

6. More Demand for Community-Based & Immersive Learning Experiences
With more people craving deep connection and real transformation, the industry will move away from passive courses and toward high-touch, interactive coaching experiences. Retreats, masterminds, and live coaching will become the go-to for women who want high-level support in building confidence and taking bold action.

My Final Thought:
The next decade belongs to women who are ready to stop waiting for permission and start leading with confidence. The industry is shifting from passive self-help to real transformation, and the women who invest in their confidence will be the ones breaking barriers, making bold moves, and living life on their own terms.

Confidence is the new currency of success.
