Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Mormino.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Carmen Mormino is one of the most successful real estate agents in Southern California, committed to helping others become their greatest selves. In 2007, while many were leaving the business, Carmen began his first day in real estate. Over the next seventeen years, Carmen continually has focused on both stellar client service as well the nuances of the industry, resulting in becoming #542 of over 400,000 licensed realtors/brokers in all of California, as well as the recipient of Rodeo Realties Top Honor, The 2023 Chairmans Award, ranked in the top 10 of over 1,200 agents. Carmen’s passion to serve grows deeper every day.
Along with his know-how of the industry, Carmen has a well- versed familiarity of a wide range of areas, having his main office in Westlake Village as well as a location in Beverly Hills, so to serve his clients needs in the best way possible.
Along with his dedication to his clients and craft, Carmen is passionate about sharing his story, both through his first book “Becoming Your Greatest Self” (presently in the works), and through speaking engagements to inner-city students, getting them to recognize and believe in the gifts they have inside, giving them insight on how he achieved this meteoric rise from to one of the most respected and successful Realtors in the state. In addition, he is working on a production with an Emmy award winning Director entitled “The Foundation,” a feel good asprirational series combining elements of the classic hit “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” while focusing on how people achieve massive success in all walks of life, and that it is possible for everyone.
While his unsurpassed commitment to his clients could be all- consuming, Carmen maintains the ever so important work/life balance, never sacrificing what is most important, priceless time his wife of 28+ years MaryLee, and two daughters, Mia and Lola. In addition, Carmen (Chicago born and raised) has been an avid Ice-hockey player since the age of seven and continues to hit the ice three times a week, swapping his passion for the game and for life both on and off the ice.
For his clients, for his family, for the community, Carmen is continually helping others “Become their greatest selves.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Carmen has overcome personal obstacles throughout the years, ranging from the unexpected loss of his Father who was his role model/hero/ best friend, to his beautiful bride surviving breast cancer, to his Daughter Lola being born with a two and a half pound tumor at birth, that if it wasn’t for a c-section, he could have lost both Lola and MaryLee. While he understands that others have overcome much greater obstacles, he knows that any event in ones life only makes that person stronger. He lives each day by his Dad’s favorite sayings “nothing is so bad it can’t be worse,” facing each and any obstacle one at a time to keep going. He knows, when there seems to be nowhere to turs, he keeps going straight ahead.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The unpredictability has never been more prevalent as it is today. From the unprecedented housing boom during the Pandemic to the recent rise in interest rates and lack of inventory, the market continually shifts day to day. While the years 2020-2022 resulted in historic sales, it was not a realistic market, and here in 2024 both buyers and sellers are settling in to this “new norm” and planning accordingly. Carmen always advises his clients the best time to buy a home is when you walk in to a property and say “this is it,’ and the best time to sell a home is when you wake up one morning and say “let’s sell the house.” Carmen compares “playing the market” similar to going to Vegas and saying “I’m going to beat the casino.” Usually doesn’t go as planned!
