Hidden Gems: Meet Brandon Chabner of Law Office of Brandon S. Chabner, A Professional Corporation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Chabner.

Hi Brandon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my legal practice back in 1990, after passing the bar exam and began my career as a litigation attorney with Fulbright and Jaworski in Washington, DC. After becoming more interested in businesses through my investing and work experience, and later attending Harvard Business School, I transitioned to the practice of corporate law in 1997 (working with Hale and Dorr in Boston, MA). In late 1999, I moved to Southern California, where I worked for a few regional/local firms, before spending 2 years as in-house counsel for ESI Enterprises in Woodland Hills, CA. Ultimately, I decided to form my own law practice in 2007, and have been a solo practitioner ever since… with a focus on business law, as well as estate planning, real estate law, regulatory research and pre-litigation matters.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve found that nothing that is ever worth anything is easy. Of course, there are challenges.
Financing business operations, finding business/clients, doing the work and handling all the little details … it all takes persistence, patience and dedication.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Law Office of Brandon S. Chabner, A Professional Corporation?
We provide high quality legal services at reasonable prices and with a client-centered, hands-on approach.
I’ve been practicing law for about 30 years, so I think the longevity right there says something.

What I value most is solving problems, delivering results and creating long-lasting relationships with my clients.

When clients hire my firm, they hire me, my staff (which includes a very experienced estate planning and corporate/real estate paralegal) and our commitment to a job well done.

I’ve been on the other end of receiving legal bills, so I think I’m qualified and able to understand the perspective of the law services client … what they want and expect out of their attorney.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I always try to go beyond the legal work to find other ways to help my clients … typically through my extensive referral network of financial professionals, other attorneys and business contacts. Over the years, these referrals have been very beneficial for my clients.

I have a deep love for sports and entertainment (i.e., movies and TV), which has led me to create a sports blog and related podcast, “ChabDog Sports Talk”, and which pursuits are sponsored by my law firm. We focus on NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, and over the years (I’ve been doing the blog and podcasts for over 10 years) have interviewed a number of athletes, broadcasters/journalists and sports business executives. More about this can be found at chabdog.com.

My hobbies include lots of exercise, listening to classic rock from the 70’s and 80’s, watching old movies (film noir is my favorite), investing, and spending time with family and friends.
