Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Holton
Hi Allison, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey in 2021 when a friend of a friend recommended me for a managerial role at a wedding venue. I loved helping couples navigate their special day, from inquiries to event management. Six months later, I took the leap and launched my own event coordination business, aiming to ease the stress of planning weddings. I built strong relationships with clients and the venue, which led to coordinating around 80 weddings each year as their preferred vendor.
In late 2022, I met Brandi, who became an invaluable partner in our mission. With her help, we expanded our offerings to include florals and rentals—something I’ve always dreamed of doing. Now, we have the joy of creating beautiful celebrations for couples across Los Angeles and beyond. Just last night, we wrapped up a lovely wedding at Wilson Creek in Temecula, and it’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Running my wedding coordinating business certainly comes with its challenges. I first started in 2021 with a partner, but we didn’t see eye to eye, which made me question everything and nearly pushed me to quit. However, I refocused and decided to believe in myself, ultimately launching my own business. There are still late nights spent fine-tuning details, and the pressure to meet high expectations can be intense. Every couple has their vision, and it’s my job to bring that to life, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. But the stress is always worth it when I see the joy on the couples’ faces at the end of their special day. Their heartfelt gratitude reminds me why I love this work so much.
We’ve been impressed with WEST EVENTS LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is all about creating unforgettable wedding experiences. I specialize in event coordination, offering comprehensive planning services that help couples navigate the complexities of their big day with ease. I’m known for my strong client relationships and attention to detail, which allow me to truly understand each couple’s unique vision.
What sets me apart is my commitment to making the planning process as stress-free as possible. I work closely with couples to manage logistics, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Additionally, I recently expanded my offerings to include florals and rentals, which allows me to provide a more cohesive experience.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with clients, other industry creatives, and venues, which have led to becoming the preferred vendor for many locations. This trust and connection are at the heart of my brand. I want readers to know that my mission is to bring their dream weddings to life, all while creating a joyful and seamless experience. I genuinely care about each couple and strive to make their special day truly memorable.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Absolutely! My biggest advice for those just starting out is to trust your instincts and have confidence in your vision. There will be challenges, but refocusing on your goals will help you grow.
Building strong relationships with clients and vendors is crucial, so don’t hesitate to network and seek mentorship. Lastly, remember to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Celebrate your wins, and always remember the fulfillment that comes from making couples’ dreams come true!
