Hi Valentina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Valentina Montes, the proud owner and licensed esthetician behind Simply Bare Benefits. I’m a 23-year-old Latina, born and raised in the beautiful San Fernando Valley, and I’ve been in the beauty industry for 4 amazing years with 2 of those years dedicated to growing my own little dream business.
Growing up, skincare and self-care weren’t always seen as priorities, and that’s exactly why I created Simply Bare Benefits, to change that perspective. My mission is to show that skincare isn’t a luxury… it’s a necessity!
I believe in simplicity at its finest. Skincare should be easy to understand, approachable, and customized just for you. My goal is to help you feel confident and radiant in your own skin, while educating and guiding you every step of the way.

– Started Beauty School in the end of 2020 and graduated in March of 2021

– Official Start date of Simply Bare Benefits was August 9, 2023 ( home based for a year)

– Official start date in my Burbank Location was November 1st 2024

– Worked in 2 different spas, Burk Williams and Face Haus before I started my own business. I learned how to mange a business and customer service and a lot of my massage techniques were brought and perfected in my own way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a business has definitely NOT been a smooth road. As a 21 year old at the time that has no guidance of how to start a business and make it grow I had to learn everything on my own.
Another struggle was financial, knowing that I had to be patient and work hard to make enough to rent a location because for a year I was home based.
I sacrificed a lot of my time “in my 20s” to run my own business and there was a lot of times where I had to put my work instead of having “fun times” to sustain Simply Bare Benefits

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Simply Bare Benefits was established on August 9th 2023. My business is a faith based business and the bibles verse my business is based on is Ephesians 2:10

My business’s moto is “simplicity at its finest” where skin care is simple to understand for everyone.

I specialize in facials. I am best known for my massage techniques.

What sets me apart is that I always put my clients first. I always take the extra measures to educate my clients to better help them understand their skin and build a trusting relationship with them.

I would like everyone to know that every facial I offer is customized to each individuals needs. And that in my treatment room they will always have a clear and better understanding of skin care. ALL FIRST TIME CLIENTS RECEIVE $20 OFF THEIR FIRST TREATMENT. As a thank you from me to them for being my first time client.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First and foremost, God. I thank God for allowing my dreams to come true and making them into more that I could ever fathom.

My parents, that have supported my dreams and career from the start. They believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself and whenever I would doubt myself my parents were there to encourage me to never give up.

My instructor in beauty school, Mrs. Darvina. She taught me everything I know today and set me up for success. She knew that I would be an independent esthetician before I did. With her seeing that in me she took the time to teach me how to be a strong business owner and confident in my work.
