Today we’d like to introduce you to Tania Hassanzadeh.
Hi Tania, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon in Beverly Hills, CA. While I grew up just outside of Los Angeles, I moved cross-country for my education and training for well over a decade! I graduated with honors from Duke University, national academic distinction from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and then completed all my surgical training in Boston at Tufts Medical Center and Boston University Medical Center.
I was motivated to return to Los Angeles and especially Beverly Hills because Beverly Hills the mecca of plastic surgery! The latest advances always start here, and there’s no better place for top-notch, patient-centric, concierge-level care. My goal is deliver the highest standard to all my patients and to become a destination for facial plastic surgery from all over. I just opened my boutique practice, Hassanzadeh Facial Plastic Surgery, in the Beverly Hills Golden Triangle on Roxbury and have partnered with several world-class centers for my surgical patients, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Of course, being back in Los Angeles is also very personal to me. Almost all my family still lives here, and they are my heart. Especially as a proud Persian American woman, I am so happy to be back in so-called “Tehrangeles”!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of my biggest challenges happened in young childhood, which was punctuated by the sudden passing of my father. Clearly this affected my whole family, and as an only child, I watched my mother step into the role of a single mother. She put all her energy into raising me, despite her own grief and exhaustion. She has made countless sacrifices to support my dreams and success, and she continues to help me to this day. I now call her my “Momager” and was so excited she participated in my practice’s ribbon cutting ceremony alongside me!
On a professional level, the rigors of a surgical residency program can only be truly understood by those who have experienced it. Suffice it to say, it requires many sleepless nights, enduring highly stressful situations–sometimes life-or-death–and the sacrifice of almost your entire social life. I’m glad to be on the other side!
Now I am in the throes of managing a new company in a highly competitive market and learning the art of business to complement my expertise in medicine. However, as they say, these are good problems to have! I feel very fortunate to be where I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Hassanzadeh Facial Plastic Surgery?
While I touched on this, I am so excited to have just officially opened my surgical practice, Hassanzadeh Facial Plastic Surgery. I spent years training in Head & Neck Surgery, including a dedicated and prestigious dual-fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. In my practice today, I have become an expert in complex rhinoplasty, deep-plane lip lift, and deep-plane facelift.
My focus is on offering the most advanced surgical techniques to deliver natural, long-lasting outcomes. In all my consultations, I am honest and fairly direct with my patients. I must believe I can achieve a positive outcome or change, and your vision and mine need to align before I take on your case. If someone is not a surgical candidate, I won’t offer surgery. Likewise, if someone’s desired result is unnatural or not one that is representative of my aesthetic, I will also decline to operate.
All my life, I have been told that I am empathetic and put my patients at ease. I think it is crucial to have a strong doctor-patient relationship, and I pride myself on the personalized care that my whole team provides. The days of technically-skilled surgeons who are cold and rushed are behind us–patients deserve the full package. As a female surgeon too, I relate even more strongly to my patients, who are often women.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
On a personal level, I am a HUGE college and NBA basketball fan! I bleed blue always for Duke: go Blue Devils! It was also very exciting living in Boston when the Celtics won the NBA Championships in 2024, although since moving back to LA, I have made sure to pledge my loyalty to the Lakers!
