Hi Ray, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
So, it all started with me wanting to make a skincare product that helped with my skin imperfections. I wanted to create something that was all natural and no chemicals. The reason I wanted to make it was because I tried so many products in the past that did not work for me and I just got tired of it. So, I was determined to create one myself. I did months of research on different herbs and natural ingredients that could help with not only my skin condition but all skin conditions as well. One of the natural ingredients that I came across was Sea Moss and while looking into the benefits of Sea Moss for skin, I learned that it could also be ingested and it could wasn’t something that only had to be used topically. Once I discovered that, that is when I started making it and taking it for myself. After that people were interested in buying it and that is how we started. Our skin care is still in the works and being perfected.
The body sculpting side of things came from personal experience. I always had stubborn fat that I could not get rid of. It didn’t matter what I did.. changed my diet , went to the gym consistently, it just would not budge. I’ve done body sculpting a couple times before, but never really saw the results I wanted to. So I took a class and learned myself and I incorporated a new technique of mine that helped provide good results. That is when I realized that I wanted to create Beauty Within Health and Skin the brand, and not just an item to sell.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road especially financially. It’s tough starting a business on your own, especially when all the money is coming out of your own pocket. It definitely does make it feel more rewarding though knowing that the money that I made from working my 9-5 is what built this business. It took years to get this far and I still have a long way to go, but the support I receive from my family and friends definitely has helped me get through the challenging times.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Beauty within Health and Skin is a health and wellness brand that was created to help people take pride in their well being from the inside out. I stated before that this all started with me wanting to come up with skincare products to help my own skin imperfections that other products could not help me with. Doing my research on the natural herbs and ingredients I wanted to use I came across sea moss. When I started taking the sea moss myself and feeling the benefits like energy, clearer skin and improved digestion, that’s when I realized that I wanted to start taking an herbal approach to my wellness and health. I’ve taken a personal interest in herbal medicine because although pills can temporarily aid in certain pain or regulate certain medical issues, it does not get rid of it. It just puts a Band-Aid over it. You will always be needing to go back to the doctor for more. Unfortunately, healthcare is not affordable for everyone. I’ve witnessed the different treatment that people with health insurance have versus people who don’t have insurance at all get turned away at doctors’s offices because they don’t have enough money to pay for a visit or they’re unable to afford their prescription. My goal is to shine more light on herbal medicine. There is an herb out there for everything. I believe that God has given us everything we need right here on this earth. Before western medicine (pills, etc.) healing came from plants and herbs. Those herbs and plants are still here and are still working their magic without the crazy side effects that regular pills could have. Although it may be healing one part of your body it could be damaging another. So, next up on the health side of Beauty Within we’ll be focusing more on an herbal approach for healing at an affordable price for all. Stay tuned for upcoming products.

Body sculpting is well known & I’m sure you’ve heard of or definitely see a lot of celebrities doing it. But unfortunately it gets a bad name because a lot of people do not see results that they wanna see. I took the liberty of taking a class myself to really understand the anatomy of the body and how this treatment truly works and incorporating my own technique to provide results that people want to see. I was one of those people who would get body sculpting done and would never see results and I was over it. There are a lot of women who have been through the same thing and I just want to be the one to let them know that it really does work you just have to go to the right person and be consistent. There are also a lot of people who make comments like “just go to the gym”, “just eat right” but unfortunately what works for one person may not work for the next. There are a lot of people who have underlying health issues that prevent them from seeing the results that they want to see in the gym and even with a healthy diet. That’s where body sculpting comes in. Body sculpting is a non invasive treatment that targets stubborn fat in certain areas. We will never tell a client not to go to the gym. We actually encourage it as it does help to see the best results. We encourage healthy lifestyle habits, such as diet, exercise and increased water intake along with treatment. This is just to target those stubborn areas that not everyone can get rid of. Our most popular treatment is the mommy make over. There are times where some moms aren’t able to snap back after childbirth. We take pride in getting you back to being your best self. If you’re unhappy with what you see in the mirror, we want to help you be happy with who you see in the mirror again! It all starts with good health.You do not have to be a mommy to get the Mommy makeover, it will work for anyone who has stubborn fat. Even though it is mostly women who get body sculpting done, It is for men as well. We have both men and women clientele. How do you think about luck?
Well some call it luck but I call it BLESSINGS. I Believe that everything that has happened so far is because this is my purpose. There are times when things don’t work out and I question myself and wonder if I’m doing the right thing or am I on the right path, then God shows me something that reminds me that this is what I’m supposed to be doing. So if something doesn’t work out along the way, I don’t let it interfere with how far I’ve got. I just look at it as it wasn’t supposed to happen & keep moving forward.
