Exploring Life & Business with Ovsanna Yepremyan of OhSeek Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ovsanna Yepremyan.

Hi Ovsanna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey in film by volunteering at NoHo Cinefest, first as a festival submission judge and later as staff during their annual week-long festivals. That experience gave me a valuable introduction to the indie film community.

My first time on set was actually through the festival director, Gustavo Sampaio. I started as a production assistant, but when they realized they didn’t have a second assistant camera (2nd AC), I was asked to step into the role. On that same set, I met David M. Parks, which led to more opportunities. A few months later, I received an email asking me to 2nd AC again, and that opened the door to consistent camera department work.

Soon after, I moved into a 1st AC role on another feature. Since then, I’ve worked as a 1st AC on over ten feature films within a year.

I eventually founded OhSeek Productions and teamed up with RAD Cine Films to make my first feature, Last Hit. Now, I’m producing a second feature film created by Preston Weaver, currently in pre-production in collaboration with RAD Cine, Weaver Media, and Vista Film Sales.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been as smooth as it can be, especially considering the current state of the industry and the challenges facing the indie film world. Independent filmmaking is never easy when budgets are tight, schedules are demanding, and you often have to wear multiple hats to get things done. That said, I’ve been fortunate to work with people who believe in collaboration and share a strong work ethic.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about OhSeek Productions?
OhSeek Productions is a film production company that specializes in pre-production. We focus on building strong foundations for independent features by helping filmmakers with everything from budgeting and scheduling to assembling crew and preparing for principal photography. Our goal is to make the transition from script to set as smooth and efficient as possible.

We work closely with RAD Cine, Vista Film Sales, and Weaver Media forming a collaborative network that supports independent filmmakers through every stage of the process, from development to distribution. What sets us apart is our attention to detail during pre-production, our hands-on approach, and our deep respect for story and the people who tell them.

Another key differentiator is our ability to not only develop and package a project but also see it through to completion. We have the resources, partnerships, and infrastructure in place to guide a film from pre-production all the way to release, smoothly and on schedule.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was definitely the silly one in the family. As the younger child, I was always putting on a show at home, making everyone laugh. But outside of the house, I was actually really shy. It took me a while to grow out of that and feel comfortable being myself in new environments. One thing that always stuck with me, though, was my love for TV shows. Even as a kid, I was drawn to the way you could connect with a character and follow their story over time. That connection made me want to be part of the entertainment industry from the young age of 7 years old.
