Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Melissa Strong and I’m the founder of Strong Concepts, a personal shopping, styling, and professional organization company serving Hollywood, Los Angeles, Miami, and Palm Beach. My journey started in Toronto where I studied Fashion Arts Merchandising. I’ve always been fascinated by how style communicates confidence, personality, and success. From there, I moved to New York City to pursue acting and train professionally. Living and studying in New York exposed me to one of the most influential fashion capitals in the world.
Through my acting career and training, I spent time working and living in several major style cities including Los Angeles, Miami, and Palm Beach. Each city has its own fashion identity and lifestyle, New York is sophisticated and polished, Los Angeles is trend-driven and expressive, Miami is vibrant and glamorous, and Palm Beach is classic and elegant.
Over time, friends, colleagues, and clients began asking for help with their wardrobes, shopping, and organizing their homes. I realized that people often feel overwhelmed by clutter, shopping choices, or finding their personal style. That’s when I launched Strong Concepts to help people simplify their lives and feel confident in how they present themselves.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has had both exciting opportunities and challenges that required me to adapt and evolve.

Coming from the entertainment industry, I was already familiar with uncertainty and the importance of persistence. Acting requires resilience, and those same qualities became incredibly valuable while building Strong Concepts. Starting a business means learning everything from branding and marketing to client development and operations, often all at the same time.

One of the biggest challenges was navigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many people in creative and entertainment industries, it forced me to rethink my career path and consider how to pivot my skills into something sustainable long-term.

That period ultimately became an opportunity to step fully into something I had naturally been doing for years, helping people refine their personal style, curate wardrobes, and organize their spaces. Throughout my acting career and time attending events and red carpets, people were constantly asking me for style advice or help selecting outfits. That made me realize there was a real opportunity to turn my eye for style and presentation into a business.

Building Strong Concepts required a lot of learning, persistence, and belief in my vision. Entrepreneurship is rarely a straight line, but the process of pivoting and building something from the ground up has been incredibly rewarding.

Every challenge has reinforced my goal of helping people feel confident, organized, and aligned with the life they want to create.

Strong Concepts is a personal styling, personal shopping, and home organization company that helps people elevate how they live, present themselves, and move through the world. I work with clients in Hollywood, California, Palm Beach, Florida, and Miami, Florida, helping them refine their personal image and create spaces that reflect the life they are building.

Living and working in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, and Miami exposed me to very different style cultures—from the sophisticated polish of Palm Beach to the fashion-forward energy of New York and the bold glamour of Miami. That perspective allows me to help clients develop a personal style that feels authentic to them while still polished and elevated.

Through Strong Concepts, I help clients with wardrobe edits, personal shopping, event styling, and closet organization, as well as home organization projects that simplify their daily routines. Many of my clients are going through major life transitions—career changes, relocation’s, divorce, or stepping into new levels of professional success—and they want their image and environment to reflect that next chapter.

What sets my work apart is that I approach styling holistically. It’s not just about clothes. It’s about confidence, identity, and alignment. When someone’s wardrobe is curated properly and their home environment feels organized and intentional, it changes how they show up in their personal and professional life.

I’m also proud of building a brand that blends creativity with practicality. My goal is to make luxury living feel accessible while still maintaining a high level of taste and discretion for clients. I also wrote an e-book called How to Make a Luxury Living and Shop All Day, which reflects my philosophy that style and lifestyle can be both inspirational and attainable.

In addition to my private clients, I work through Glamhive, a global platform that connects clients with professional stylists for virtual and in-person styling services.
