Exploring Life & Business with Lisa Craft of Adventure Dating LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Craft.

Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story starts with my grandparents being a big influence on my life. My grandfather was a mechanical engineer and an inventor. Weekends were spent learning how to fix or invent something. My grandmother was very much into health and wellness and taught me how to swim, play tennis, eat properly and the power of positive thinking.

Growing up I fell in love with the ocean while on a trip to Cabo San Lucas. I traded in tennis for a surfboard and that
would guide me to chase the waves. My life revolved around chasing the waves. I took a job at an office that provided CPR training for the Los Angeles community. At the time, teaching lifesaving skills molded perfectly into my active lifestyle.
After watching a segment on Oprah, which was about female entrepreneurs in 2002, I decided to become an entrepreneur and so Southern California CPR was started with a donated computer and a hand me down fax machine.

Fast forward to 2018, while on a mountain bike ride in the Topanga State Park, Adventure Dating was created. The idea came when I stopped my bike to take in the scenery, and I thought how great it would be to invent an App where busy people could put in the activity and date available and they could meet likeminded people to share their adventure with.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Creating Adventure Dating has endured plenty of roadblocks. The biggest challenge was finding the right engineers to create my vision. After looking at the cost of building an app here in the United States, I found a wonderful team of engineers in India. This meant I had to work in the day and spend my evenings on the computer communicating with my engineers due to the time difference. This took trust, patience, and several years to create but the final product is wonderful. I am happy with how it came out.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My vision is to create a welcoming community where people can step away from their screens and meet others who share their passions. By focusing on shared activities, I hope to help people form genuine bonds, try new things, and discover that meaningful connections start with a little movement and a lot of openness. I want Adventure Dating to make it easy—and safe—to create lasting memories, one adventure at a time.

What does success mean to you?
Success is about fulfillment and making a difference. It’s not just about ticking off milestones or chasing external markers of achievement—it’s about being happy with what you’re doing day to day, and allowing everything else to unfold naturally in its own time. Success is about finding meaning in the journey, not just the destination, and embracing the lessons, challenges, and small wins along the way. It’s about building a life that feels aligned with your values, where your work matters and leaves a positive impact, no matter how big or small. True success is rooted in balance—creating space for joy, growth, and purpose, while knowing that the process itself is just as valuable as the outcome.
