Today we’d like to introduce you to Lily Harris
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a Holistic Nutrition Practitioner currently based in LA. My goal is to bring pleasure to healing, help clients build confidence in the healing capabilities of their bodies, & quiet the noise.
Hindsight 20/20, stepping into this career began when I was little. I was fascinated by the healing capabilities of capsaicin from peppers in grade school & was known to give out remedies like probiotics to friends in college. I’ve always loved food & cooking from home, but went on to work in the fashion world for 12 years after college doing everything from trend forecasting, to designing denim, childrenswear, etc. After frustrating years of experiencing eczema, frequent sinus infections, having a hemithyroidectomy, & receiving a Celiac Disease diagnosis, I had no choice but to find joy in healing. I fell in love with the process & put myself back into nutrition school. I’ve been practicing for 4 years now. I provide holistic nutrition support to 1:1 clients, I have a Patreon where I share healthy recipes & more, & have branched out into areas like healthy recipe development & private meal delivery in the LA city area. To say I love my job is an understatement.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I feel very lucky that I found the field of Holistic Nutrition because many aspects of it come naturally to me. I lean more introverted, but it’s an easy leadership role to step into because I believe in it so deeply. Having the opportunity to teach a topic that I cannot possibly lose interest in & having the opportunity to help heal are huge gifts.
Being an entrepreneur & building your own practice are not for the faint of heart. I worked corporate jobs for many years & grew accustomed to the security they offered, so creating my own structure was a learning opportunity. There’s no magical ending because businesses require constant adaptability. Navigating social media has become fun for me, but we can all acknowledge that it’s a challenging marketing tool. I find that sharing food forward content instead of fear based nutrition content creates a more inviting space & warmer community. One personal challenge has been noticing how differently my work takes over my mental capacity when working for myself as opposed to being an employee of a bigger company. In my previous jobs, my workday ended when I left the office each evening & my brain was off the clock. Now I am much more attached to thinking about my work, mostly because I love it, but also because it’s like solving a puzzle. I love puzzles, but boundaries are key.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Lily Feeds You?

The online world of “health & wellness” can feel very loud, scary, conflicting, & restrictive to say the least. My goal is to remove shame, quiet the noise, & lead with realistic joy. I find that many people teach nutrition from an isolated perspective, but being part of the world & part of community is key to health. Health cannot happen in isolation & I differ from many practitioners in this thinking. Therefore, I arm my clients & followers with advice within the goal of being part of the world & inviting others in.
How do you define success?
What a question! I’m still defining that for myself, but success is bigger than work. Do I have community? Do I have the freedom of living within my own routine? Do I like my home life? Do I find joy in my work? Will I have regrets on my deathbed? Can I take time off? How are my stress levels? Can I freely express myself? Bigger questions.
I feel like I’ve already found success in the sense that I feel lucky to have found a profession that I love & see exponential growth in. I’ve found success in having the opportunity to be a part of people’s lives in this way. The more clearly I can share my bigger ideas, the more successful I feel.
