Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevon Lee
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The Power of I AM
I’ve had a rough childhood, but I could endure and conquer every circumstance. In July 2019, one of my best friends sent me a video from YouTube. After getting done listening to this video, another video popped up. The energy the video lit in me was like no other. I had never heard of this form of speaking, so I asked him what it was, and he said it was motivational speaking. I thought to myself, I went through a hard life like them; people always tell me I’m motivational, and I’ve been shot! I can be a motivational speaker.
I started saying from that day that I wanted to be a motivational speaker, but if I wanted to be one, I had to believe I was already one. Then, I told people, “Hello, my name is Kevon Lee, and I am a motivational speaker.” I said this for over a year, and in October 2020, I said this exact phrase on a Zoom call. A woman heard me say it and asked if I was a motivational speaker. I was stunned at first because no one had ever asked me that. I said absolutely. She said they have an event on January 28, 2021. Do you want to be our keynote speaker?
Absolutely!
This was my first time speaking in front of a crowd, and now it is 3.5 years later that I have spoken in front of 250,000 people across the nation. I am a full-time empowerment speaker who lives to inspire the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My parents were on drugs during and after being pregnant with me.
I was shot at the age of five and went into the foster care system.
I was bullied for being obese and contemplated suicide many times.
I moved from school to school, state to state, and did the third grade twice.
