Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Cabral.

Hi Hayley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers. 
My love affair with the circus started with Cirque Du Soleil; fascinated with the lifestyle of high-performance training and traveling, I made up my mind that I would be a professional circus performer at 11 years old and dedicated my life to training. As a high school student, I would spend my days in LAUSD and nights performing in downtown LA under the Big Top. My impossible dream to perform around the world as a hand-balancing contortionist came true when I was offered a contract to tour performing my solo hand-balancing contortionist act with California’s Largest Big Top Circus, Circus Vargas. It was a whirlwind of fantasy, fun, and incredibly hard work. I met my husband in the circus, an important part of my secret fantasy to find love in the circus; after all, what can be more romantic than falling in love in the circus? We took off after the tour and traveled the world in over 30 countries as Guest Entertainers on prestigious cruise lines. As a performer, I used to believe that performing was my purpose in life, but when I created Flexibility Fitness and became a teacher, I realized that sharing my passion and knowledge for the art of contortion was even more rewarding than being onstage. Being a leader for the next generation of artists, dancers, and gymnasts who want to learn contortion techniques is a privilege that I am honored to have. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an artist and small business owner is never easy. There were many struggles along the way, but I attribute my success to the discipline I developed through the training of contortion. Contortion training taught me that if you work hard, stay consistent, and never give up, you can achieve your goal. Starting a new business is very similar to flexibility training; it can be uncomfortable- even painful at times! Some days I felt like giving up, but I always had this thought in the back of my head “If I can learn to fold my body in half and balance in a one arm handstand, I can do ANYTHING!” So, I kept pushing forward, and Flexibility Fitness started attracting more attention from competition dancers who wanted to achieve a competitive edge with flexibility technique training. Studio owners noticed that I was working with their dancers and started inviting me to host Masterclasses to teach my contortion techniques. The most rewarding was the outpouring of appreciation from the dancers and their moms, excited about the progress they were making and how much their confidence had grown from taking Flexibility Fitness classes!

Flexibility Fitness specializes in high-performance technique training for competitive dancers and athletes. It is a multi-disciplinary training program that combines coordination, gymnastics, and Pilates techniques to improve flexibility and strength in a balanced way.
